“As full of spirit as the month of May, and as gorgeous as the sun in Midsummer.” - William Shakespeare

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we look forward to events such as our Spring Music Concerts, Prom, OCHS Community Scholarship Program, NHS Induction Ceremony, Graduation, and extra-curricular events.

At the same time, the end of the school year can be particularly challenging for students as they juggle final exams, projects, and other commitments. Please continue to emphasize with your child the importance of finishing strong academically and maintaining a scholastic focus by sticking to a dedicated time each evening for study purposes, turning in assignments, reducing the amount of screentime, and communicating with their teachers as needed.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in your child’s education!

Semester 2 Final Exams

Semester 2 final exams are scheduled for June 5 and 6. OCHS will utilize this final exam schedule. All students, grades 9-12, will follow the same final exam schedule.

As tradition, senior students will participate in a brunch following their last exam which will take place June 6, from 11:00-12:00 in the cafeteria. Students will have the opportunity to sign yearbooks, say goodbye to teachers, and receive pertinent information regarding the graduation ceremony.

Following the brunch, senior students will be dismissed and will not be able to regain access to classrooms or lockers. Students are more than welcome to participate in the annual graduation walk by wearing their graduation gowns and visiting their elementary school of which they attended. More information will be forthcoming.

Advanced Placement Exams and Score Reports

AP Exams will take place May 6-11 and May 13-17.

Check HERE for all information pertaining to AP Exams and AP Scores reports.

Enrollment, course and athletic fees are now considered past due, please log into your Infinite Campus parent portal to pay your student fees.

Please note that unpaid fees will result in ineligibility to purchase a parking pass for next school year and for Senior students, diplomas are held until ALL fees have been paid in full. Please reach out to the business office with any questions or concerns.

Reporting Attendance through the Parent Portal - Reminders and Clarification

  • Students who are leaving school due to illness are required to go to the Health Room to be checked out.  Parents cannot request a student to leave school due to illness through the Parent Portal.  If your child calls you to leave school due to illness, they should report to the Health Room.  Requests by parents to release students early due to illness through Infinite Campus will be denied
  • If parents need to provide a short notice for a student to leave early, best practice is for the parent to call the Attendance Office rather than using the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus.

Statistics in Action

Statistics students at OCHS will participate in an optional field trip May 15th, 2024. As part of this unique educational day at American Family Field, students can put their math skills to the test while using statistics from the Brewers contest against the Pirates to complete various problems specially designed to teach mathematical principles through the game of baseball.

Retirements :

At the end of the year, two of our counselors, Ms. Kim Wolak, and Ms. Kelly Groh, will be retiring. Ms. Wolak has worked for Oak Creek for 35 years. Ms. Groh has been with Oak Creek for 28 years. Both counselors have worked at the elementary, middle and high school levels and actually met each other in grad school! Ms. Katie Thiel will be Ms. Wolak's replacement and Ms. Molly Moore will be Ms. Groh's replacement. While we are sad to say "goodbye" to Ms. Wolak & Ms. Groh, we are excited to welcome Ms. Thiel & Ms. Moore!

CAPP Courses:

CAPP courses are classes that are taken concurrently at UW-Oshkosh and OCHS. These classes at OCHS are Advanced Speech Communication, AP Biology, AP English Language & Composition, AP Environmental Science and Music History. If your student has signed up for one or more of these CAPP classes for the 2024-25 school year, they will be invited to a meeting on May 29th or May 30th during Go Time to learn what CAPP courses are and the process of applying, registering and taking CAPP course(s). This is the presentation that will be shown to the students.

GRADUATION!!!!

Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony is Saturday, June 8, at 10:00 AM. Please check out this LINK for all graduation information including American Family Field policies.

Direct Admission to UW Systems Universities

  • Beginning with the class of 2025, students will have the opportunity to use a direct admission process to many of the UW System Schools. Direct Admission would allow students to be accepted into specific UW System Schools based on academic information at the end of the junior year. Students who have been accepted into a UW school through the Direct Admission process do NOT need to complete the traditional application process.
  • Current Junior families will receive an Opt In/Opt Out form through Infinite Campus this week to Opt in to the process.
  • Current Sophomore families will indicate during the Annual Check-in Process during the summer whether they would like to Opt in or out of the process.
  • For more information on Direct Admissions please review the UW Direct Admissions Flyer
  • Direct Admissions Flyer - Spanish
  • UW Madison, UW LaCrosse, and UW EauClaire do NOT participate in the Direct Admissions Process with the UW system.

Knight Skills

In May, all grade levels will do the DESSA Assessment. This survey will help students understand their social and emotional skills. They will see examples of skills that they already have (strengths) and some skills that they may want to further develop (growth opportunities). Students will then work on developing a personal growth plan by setting goals and challenges based on areas they would like to focus on after their survey.

Summer School

Summer school runs Monday - Thursday, June 17 - July 26 (No school on July 4). Students enrolled in summer school and their families will receive emails with more details closer to the end of the school year. Click HERE for more information.

Locker Clean-Out

All hall lockers must be completely emptied immediately after the last exam on Thursday, June 6, 2024. If an emergency or absence occurs, please call the school to ensure the safety of your belongings.  The school is not responsible for any items left in lockers after this time. Immediately after the last exam on the final day of school in the Spring, lockers are cleaned by the maintenance staff and items remaining are either donated to charity or disposed of. Students (Sophomores and Juniors) returning in the Fall should leave their locks on their lockers (as shown in the picture) over the Summer.

  • All Freshmen should take their locks home from the NGC and utilize them next year when they are at the 10-12 building.
  • Graduating Seniors, clean your lockers out and take your locks home.
