Last Wednesday, May 29th, we celebrated the graduation of our Kindergarten and our 8th graders! In the morning, at 9 am, we had our Kindergarten students and families gather at Our Lady of the Angels Center for their graduation. Later that day, at 6 pm, our 8th-grade students and families gathered at Blessed Sacrament Church for their graduation ceremony. We will miss our BSS Graduates as they embark on to high school next year and pray for their continued success! 💙💛

Party Tonight: End of the School Year Back Lawn Party!

Blessed Sacrament School will be hosting an End of the School Year Back Lawn Party on Friday, May 31st at the Main Campus from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. We will have a food truck for families to purchase food, games, and fun!

Come and hang with the staff one last time before the summer begins! We will have Tacos Neza & the Mechanical Bull will be back to give students, staff & parents free rides. Bring your own food and drinks if you like!

We will miss you, Mrs. Fitzgerald!

Mrs. Fitzgerald has been an integral part of the BSS Community for the past 9 years and has been a part of the staff for the last 4. She has not only planned every single event of the school, but she has organized parents, students, and teachers, and pull-up overnighters to make things happen for our students and staff. Part of the magic of BSS is having Mrs. Fitzgerald behind the scenes. Even though we will see her as an 8th-grade parent, we will miss her dearly at BSS this upcoming school year. Mrs. Fitzgerald and the Fitzgerald Family: THANK YOU!!

Color Run

Last Thursday, May 23rd, we celebrated our annual Color Run! Sponsored by the students of the National Junior Honor Society, all of our students, staff, and parents had an opportunity to participate in the run. The NJHS asked for a $5.00 donation to participate and all proceeds will benefit the BSS Chromebook Fund.

Thank you to everyone who supported the 2024 Color Run! Thank you for your patience and understanding as we had to hold the event in two parts.

We raised $1115 for the BSS Technology Fund!

Fun at the Middle School Dance

Last Thursday, May 23rd from 6:00-8:00 Student Council hosted our last dance of the year! They chose a Casino Knight theme! There was a mix of dancing and card games! It was a great way to end a fun week!

Middle School Field Trip to Dollywood!

Earlier this week, most of our students in middle school participated in our annual field trip. This year, we took our students to Dollywood! Students had an amazing time rising all of the roller coasters, eating delicious country food, visiting the Titanic Museum, and even getting to pet some goats. Thank you very much Mrs. Kearney for planning an awesome trip for our students & a special thanks to all of the parent chaperones who were able to come with us! 4th Grade Novel Studies

Students in both fourth-grade classes recently completed their novel studies. Students read either Holes, Stuart Little, or A Dog’s Life. Today, students presented their projects to their peers to share their understanding of their novels. They dug deep and created some phenomenal projects!

BSS Class of 2020 Walks the Halls

On the morning of May 22nd, our Class of 2020 returned to BSS to walk the halls in their high school caps and gowns. This class missed the end of their 8th-grade year due to the global pandemic. They missed out on all of the special events that our 8th graders look forward to for years…no field trip, no Field Day, no real graduation. We wanted to give them something special today. We recreated the coveted 8th-grade water balloon toss! They received “Field Day 2020 Redo” shirts for the event. We even included businesses we know would have sponsored Field Day in 2020!

Summer Counseling

Mrs. Susan Caceres will be offering free summer counseling sessions starting June 10th Mondays to Wednesdays at 515 Hillcrest Ave. If parents/guardians would like their students to participate, they must complete the attached form and send it back to the office.

Prepare for the Upcoming School Year!

Another year is gone! But preparing for the next one early is key for the success of our students and school community. Please mark your calendars as the Unpack & Peek is scheduled for Monday, August 19th & the First Day of School will be on Wednesday, August 21st. This year we will not have summer reading books for our students, but do recommend reading a book this summer (ask your child's teacher(s) for recommendations). We will also not have a supply list this upcoming year as Blessed Sacrament School will provide supplies to all of our students this time! 💙💛

If your child is going into kindergarten, please send their updated Immunization Records to the office and have your child's doctor fill out a Health Assessment Form!

Make sure you submit an updated Emergency Contact Form for the 2024-2025 school year. CLICK HERE to fill out online without having to use paper.

Afterschool Care Services Prices will go up by $5 dollars:

Drop-in rate: $15.00 per day

Monthly rate until 4:30 pm: $105.00 per child

Monthly rate until 6:00 pm: $180.00 per child

Our school office located at the main campus will be open this summer from Monday to Thursday, from 9 am - 1 pm for parents who need to submit forms, payments, and meetings.

We will send out more details about the upcoming school year later in the summer; including ways to volunteer to get ready for the next school year. Contracts for the Upcoming School Year

By now, all of our BSS Families should have received a re-enrollment agreement from our admissions office. If your family is NOT waiting to hear from a scholarship, please sign your re-enrollment agreement ASAP. If your family has not signed a contract by May 25th, then your child's seat for next year is NOT guaranteed. We are at capacity in our rising 4th and 7th grade classes. Do not delay!

If your family has not received a re-enrollment agreement yet, or not planning to return to BSS, please contact Mr. Rico ASAP to let us know at admissions@bssknights.org. Thank you for choosing BSS!

NC Opportunity Scholarship Updates

If your family is renewing an NC Opportunity Scholarship for your child, make sure you do so by their deadline of July 1st or you will lose the scholarship. If you need help renewing your scholarship, please bring to the office and bring in the following documents so Mrs. Gomez or Mr. Rico can help you:

• Proof of family Income- A copy of your 2023 Tax Return or W2s/1099s from both parents.
• Family Size-Including both parents

Winter Uniforms

Friendly reminder, we will transition to our Summer Uniforms next Monday, April 8!

Summer uniforms begin next Monday, April 8. Just a few reminders:

1. French Toast items run very differently in sizing from Lands End. Sounds like the tops are much smaller.
2. Review our Uniform Guidelines by CLICKING HERE.
3. If you order any logo items and they are the wrong size, they CANNOT be returned.
4. Orders are arriving in about a week. So if you need new shirts, you should order them as soon as possible to receive them in time.
5. Graham Sporting Goods is the ONLY provider of PE shirts. French Toast will not be offering them.
