Our Mission: Fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served.
June 2019 Newsletter
Chapter Commander Tom Wendel
Greetings! Welcome to Chapter 10's June Newsletter. Thank you all for having faith in me as Chapter 10's Commander for 2019-2020. It is an awesome responsibility steeped with a legacy of sixty-nine years of leadership. Chapter 10's legacy can be best described by Napoleon who said, "A leader is a dealer in hope."

I am excited to take this journey with you and our elected and appointed officers. They are a dedicated and passionate group of men and women that exemplify the core values of DAV. I invite each of you to join us in extending hope to all of our fellow veterans in Arlington and Fairfax Counties and the surrounding areas. Below are several articles and examples of dealing hope to all who served. We have some big events planned in the next few months and we will need each of you to assist us in our journey. I ask you to join us in our mission of hope for those who have borne the battle.

Veterans in Burn Pit Registry helping fellow Vets
Helping researchers understand the effects of exposure to burn pits. An overall goal of scientific research on groups such as Veterans is generalizability—the measure of how well the research findings and conclusions from a sample population can be extended to the larger population.

Simply put, they want as many Veterans and active-duty service members who have deployed to specific locations to join the registry. Exposure to the toxins from Burn Pits is an extremely important issue. Many are sick, ill and dying. VA and Congress are debating this issue and there are several bills in Congress right now. If you are a Persian Gulf Era Veteran or Post 9/11 Veteran get involved today. To learn more,  Click Here!
