Phil & Kathy Cosentino invite FCBA members their home for Picnic

The July 12th picnic is not just a picnic - its a FCBA picnic at our barn.  And yes, we will be celebrating Forest's very successful year as President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, a year in which he made us all proud!  But a challenge has also been issued -YLD (Young Lawyers Division) vs. OLD (...never mind, you get the picture) in various games of strength and skill! Alright, maybe not so much on the strength but certainly plenty of fun. There will not be football as in years past when the Chambersburg attorneys took on Waynesboro/Greencastle/Mercersburg attorneys (so long ago, we all wore leather helmets). There will be bocce, horse shoes, corn hole, golf (chipping - closest to pin), and giant jenga.  There will be delicious BBQ, music for all ages (Sinatra to Selena Gomez), beer, wine, soda, and possibly Karaoke if the mood strikes. There will be tents, tables and chairs and the barn itself so inclement weather is no problem. The barn is equipped with a comfortable rest room for the ladies. Guys will be relegated to a porta-potty. Discriminatory?- you bet.

We already have the trophy to be presented to the winning team! The trophy will be placed in the FCBA display case in the Courthouse and the OLD will have bragging rights for the next year (my prediction!)The losing team will have to muck out the stalls.

This will be a great time! Let's shoot for a tremendous turnout and continue the great Franklin County Bar tradition of collegiality! Looking forward to seeing you all (and guests) on the 12th.

FCBA YLD Answers Phil's Prediction

The FCBA YLD members are looking forward to the Picnic! They couldn't believe Phil prediction that OLD would win the FCBA Cup.

Here are the top 10 reasons why the OLD will lose the YLD vs. OLD Games:

10. It will be difficult to play bocce while holding onto a walker for support.

9. It's hard to win a game when you can't remember the rules.

8. They will be too busy reminiscing about the good old days of wearing leather football helmets to concentrate on winning.

7. They will have to break for nap-time in the middle of every game.

6. The picnic starts at 4 p.m. which is their bed time.

5. We may have to concede that they will win tug-of-war if they all put the brakes on their wheel chairs.

4. By the time they walk from their cars to the picnic, it will be over.

3. They probably will miss their turns repeatedly since they won't hear their names being called.

2. Each time they try to Karaoke to Mariah Carey their dentures fall out.

And the number one reason why the OLD will choke at the YLD vs. OLD games ....

1. It's hard to win a game when you keep yelling at everyone to get off of your lawn!

"I Bank on Justice" Campaign

The IOLTA Board launched its "I Bank on Justice" Campaign in conjunction with its new website in June 2014. The "I Bank on Justice" Campaign recognizes lawyers and law firms maintaining an IOLTA account at a Platinum Leader Bank. In these times of very low interest rates, Platinum Leader Banks have demonstrated a strong commitment to the success of IOLTA's mission by paying 1% on IOLTA accounts, which means more funding for legal aid and pro bono programs.
