I returned last Monday from staffing the 20th anniversary weekend of the ManKind Project weekend in New York. I helped found the group there many years ago and it was great to be back and see all the men who have stepped up to deliver such a wonderful experience to the attendees.

I played catch up during the week and Friday, our son graduated junior high. He and the other grads ran the step up for the entire school (from kindergarden through 7th grade) plus gave a short speech about their experience growing up and going to the school for 350 - 400 attendees before hopping into a white stretch limo we rented for them to tour the town and get some food).

It was a tearjerker for all the parents of the graduates.

Job Search Radio - Active Interviewing

Hiring is broken. We know it's broken because surveys of hiring managers done after a person comes on board reveals how few managers would actually rehire the person they hired.

Hiring is the only game in town. How do you present yourself effectively and demonstrate your knowledge and skill effectively and powerfully.

Eric Kramer, author of "Active Interviewing" and owner of www.interviewbest.com offers ideas about what you can do . . . and they are really good.

The Job Market June 2015

Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter, and his views on the job market.

"I have been blogging about the job market in the US and around the world since August 2001."

What I write is not designed to be political or critical; they are my observations and sense of where we are and where we are going.

The U.S. Department of Labor said the economy added 280,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate in the US is now 5.5%.

Economists believe that increase in unemployment was caused by a return of discouraged workers to making an effort to finding work.

I am moving all of my content to a blog on my website. I think the top of TheBigGameHunter.us has become too heavy. If you don't see the article, podcast or video you need, check the blog. As of now, all new videos are going there and I am moving the previous articles from this ezine there first.

I do not write resumes from scratch; it just isn't in my DNA. Not long ago, I interviewed Jessica Hernandez from Great Resumes Fast for Job Search Radio and liked what she did on the show and investigated further.

I like the work they do and have decided that this is a service I can recommend. Go to their website using this link and I will be paid a small commission if you order from them.

If your job search is not getting results, it isn't the market or recruiters or ISIL that's at fault. You're doing some things wrong that are keeping you from getting the next job you want. You may know how to do your job but you don't know how to find a jhob as well as I do.

Here are a few ways I can help.

1. Order a job search makeover from me. It is a review of everything you are doing from resume and cover letter to LinkedIn profile to strategic things you should be doing to tactical actions. I've done two partial ones live on Job Search Radio where I dissected two job hunters and parts of their search. Both were appreciative for the pieces they received in these 30 minute shows. You'll get more.

2. Contact me to ask questions. It costs me less for you to speak with me if you order it through my website. We'll spend at least 30 minutes talking by phone, Skype or Facetime. If you think you need a few minutes with me, order it through PrestoExperts. Here, I can do it by phone, email or chat.

3. Order a resume and/or LinkedIn profile critique at my website.

4. Order my audios, "Winning Interviews" They will help you prepare for your next phone and in-person interview.

5. If you are receiving low ball offers or about to enter into a salary negotiation, schedule time with me to coach you.
