JobsOhio Community & Small Business Updates

Ohio's economic development organization, JobsOhio, has announced that the Inclusion Grant for small businesses and the Vibrant Communities Grant for Ohio’s towns and small cities will be folded into the JobsOhio core incentive offerings. The move comes after the organization received feedback from grant recipients who view the offering as focused on supporting small businesses in Ohio. As a result, the JobsOhio Inclusion Grant will now be referred to as the JobsOhio Small Business Grant. Guidelines and eligibility for these grants remain the same. Local community partners are encouraged to update their websites to reflect the change and continue to work with JobsOhio to educate local small business owners and eligible communities about these incentives. The JobsOhio Home Page now lists the programs under Incentives as Resources for Communities and Resources for Small Businesses.

Small Biz Blitz

One of the SCEDC's goals is to empower small businesses by providing them with the necessary resources to succeed and thrive in today's competitive market. As part of our commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, we conduct visits for our "Small Biz Blitz" program. This program is designed to offer an abbreviated version of our Business Retention and Expansion visits to small businesses in our community.

During the "Small Biz Blitz" stops, our team will spend approximately 15 minutes with you and your team to discuss your business, answer any questions you may have, and take a group picture. We will then share this information on our social media pages, allowing our followers to learn more about your business and the amazing work that you do.

Participation in the "Small Biz Blitz" program is completely free of charge, and we would be honored to visit your business in 2024.
