Maddi is brand new to OCPRSA, and we hope you’ll extend a very warm welcome to this Reveille senior account executive when you see her at events. Q: Please tell us about you! Your job, etc.
I am a senior account executive at Reveille, Inc., specializing in public relations for healthcare and nonprofit clients in the Orange County area. Before joining Reveille, I worked as an account executive on the healthcare media team at BCW Global, where I honed my media relations skills while specializing in oncology, pharmaceuticals, COVID-19 and women’s health. Prior to that, I worked at Aria Marketing, a small health-tech B2B public relations agency in Boston, which introduced me to the healthcare and public relations professional world. I hold an M.S. in public relations from Boston University and a B.A. in communication from Saint Mary’s College of California. I completed my degree in public relations during the COVID-19 pandemic. My first two jobs in the industry were fully remote. However, now I am thrilled to have a hybrid role that allows me to meet my colleagues and clients in person and to network face to face. When I am not in the office or exploring new places in Southern California, you can probably find me with a book or a camera.
Q: What brought you to the OCPRSA?
I recently relocated to Orange County from the East Coast, where I have most of my public relations connections. I’m joining OCPRSA with the goals of expanding my network, gaining knowledge from other industry professionals and enhancing my skills as a public relations storyteller.
Q: What’s your favorite piece of advice for PR professionals?
“PR, not ER.” Sometimes things in communications can feel genuinely catastrophic, and it’s important to remember that we can pause, take a step back, breathe and approach the situation with a creative lens.
