My name is Steve Patterson and I am the Mayor of Athens, Ohio and former Associate Professor of Psychology at Ohio University.

Hello ITGA Community!
As the new Board of Director's President, I wanted to briefly introduce myself. My name is Steve Patterson and I am the Mayor of Athens, Ohio. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the National league of Cities, the Ohio Mayor's Alliance, President of the Ohio Mayors Partnership for Progress, and Vice Co-chair of NLC's Race Equity and Leadership Council. I look forward to working with you all this year!

CU, City Collaborations are Building Community's Future
When you look at the Boulder community, it is easy to find evidence of positive change. New collaborative projects include a conference center and hotel on CU's main campus, and the Right Here, Right Now Global Summit, co-hosted by CU and United Nations Human Rights.

Student Homelessness on the Rise in the UK
Data shows homelessness is higher in university cities, with applications for homelessness assistance per head 1.4 times higher in these areas than those without a university. The report also stated that students identified as being at risk should be offered targeted support.

Over Half of Higher Ed Workers Plan to Leave
Many higher education employees are headed for the exits, according to a new survey from the College and University Professionals Association for Human Resources, which found that more than half said they were likely to look for other employment within the next 12 months.

University, City Partner on Scholarship Program
The city of Houston has partnered with the University of Houston's C.T. Bauer School of Business to help a select group of young adults take part in a new five-week certificate program aimed at ending the cycle of incarceration. Scholarships were awarded to 25 participants.
