Barn Dance Auction & Fundraiser

Hearts will host its annual Barn Dance fundraising event on
Saturday, May 11th, 2019
at the Carriage and Western Art Museum in Santa Barbara. There will be a live band, dinner, dancing, and a silent and live auction.
Proceeds from the Barn Dance will underwrite the cost of therapeutic riding lessons for low-income children and adults, as well as benefit our veterans program, Equine Services for Heroes, and our at-risk youth program where we partner with Girls Inc. of Santa Barbara and CALM (Child Abuse Listening Mediation).

Annual Student Horse Show Receives Media Spotlight

|
Hearts riders took home the gold at The Annual Student Horse Show. Participants of all ages showcased their reining and horsemanship skills before a captive audience.
The late Jean Schuyler was honored for her sustained support of Hearts' programs. Our veterans group proudly presented the colors, while volunteer Sloane Reali sang the national anthem.
A heartfelt thank you to all of the volunteers and sponsors who made this memorable day possible.

Bucky is a 23-year-old buckskin quarter horse from Ventura, CA. Before arriving at Hearts, Bucky worked as a therapy horse at Gentle Strides. Although Bucky has a relaxed demeanor, he can be light on his feet. He has a smooth and well-balanced trot.
Bucky enjoys trail rides and opening gates. The little ladies here at Hearts can't get enough of him!

Nathaniel's Bar Mitzvah Project

Hi my name is Nate. As part of my Bar Mitzvah preparation, I am doing a mitzvah project to help improve my community. My goal is to raise $2000 for Heart Therapeutic Equestrian Center here in Santa Barbara, CA.
Hearts helps kids and adults who have difficulties in overcoming obstacles and helps to create a place of strength, confidence and inspiration for those with different needs, just like me. I have ADHD that I have been riding here for nearly four years, I have gained self-confidence, physical strength, improved my ability to focus, as well as developed an appreciation and rapport with the horses and staff. My big sister, Rebekah raised $2000 for Hearts, as part of her Bat Mitzvah project two years ago. I hope to match or beat that number for my Mitzvah project because I want to help more kids and adults at Hearts. The money raised will go towards improvements for the main arena, which is desperately needed.
Please help me reaching this goal!
