Standing Firm
It is important to stand up to people who want us to use pronouns that we fundamentally disagree with, especially when the disagreement stems from the understanding that gender is determined by the science of biology rather than subjective feelings. The biblical perspective, combined with scientific evidence, provides a robust foundation for this argument.
From a biblical standpoint, Genesis 1:27 states that God created humans "male and female." This passage affirms the binary nature of biological sex, where individuals are categorized as either male or female based on their reproductive and anatomical characteristics. By acknowledging this biblical truth, we recognize the importance of aligning our language with the biological reality of sex.
Scientific evidence further supports the understanding that biological sex is determined by physical attributes present at birth, such as chromosomes, hormones, and reproductive anatomy, not your inner feelings. These objective markers form the basis of scientific classification into male and female categories. The notion that gender is determined solely by subjective feelings or personal identity is not supported by empirical evidence.
By standing up for the recognition of biological sex as the foundation for determining gender, we uphold the biblical principle of honoring God's design and order in creation. We also affirm the importance of scientific truth in guiding our understanding of the world.
Additionally, respecting biological reality in language usage is crucial for clear and effective communication. Pronouns are a linguistic tool used to refer to individuals, and they traditionally align with the person's biological sex. Departing from this alignment can lead to confusion and hinder effective communication.
Standing up for the recognition of biological sex as the basis for determining gender is important. By combining the biblical perspective on God's design and order in creation with scientific evidence, we can emphasize the importance of aligning our language with biological reality. This approach promotes clarity, effective communication, and a faithful adherence to both biblical principles and scientific truth.

We still have issues with our County Commissioners
Our pleas to protect the children of Douglas County continue to fall on the deaf ears of Abe Laydon and Lora Thomas. Drag Queen shows should be for adults because they are NOT family-friendly. It's the job of the Commissioners to protect children, why....
County commissioners hold a critical and powerful position in safeguarding our children from pornographic content. Their role cannot be overstated. Our children, who are in their formative years, are highly impressionable. Inappropriately exposing them to explicit content can lead to grave misconceptions about sexuality, relationships, and consent, and leave them wide open to the dangers of cyber bullying, sexual exploitation, and a myriad of other online risks.
County commissioners stand on the front lines of this battle. They can and must weave protective policies into the fabric of our communities. They must initiate potent partnerships with parents, educators, and tech companies, forming an ironclad network of support around our children. They can drive the adoption of media literacy programs, curate safe digital spaces, and ensure a steady stream of age-appropriate, educational content.
Moreover, commissioners have the power to shape local laws and regulations, to make sure that any violation, any attempt to distribute explicit material to minors is met with swift and severe penalties. We need our commissioners to rise to this challenge. When they do, they don't just protect our children, they're also fortifying the very foundations of our communities, making them safer, healthier spaces for us all to thrive.
How about calling and emailing these Commissioners and telling them know what you think!

Honoring Word Over Principle
Repost from FB 6/11/2023, Mark Hampton
While attending the recent Western Conservative Summit and our Parker Conservatives June meeting, I heard from various members and friends that Anthony Hartsook was complaining at a recent meeting about my position concerning AH's vote for a Democrat for Speaker of the House. To refresh everyone's memory, Anthony Hartsook voted for the Democratic Speaker of the House when he should have voted for the Republican running for Speaker of the House. As I understood, the theme of his rationale for voting for the Democrat was that his word (to whom, I wonder) is more important than his principle. My thoughts on that.....
The intricate dynamics of human ethics often straddle the line between adhering to one's verbal commitments and staying true to one's principles. At the core of such dynamics is a philosophical conundrum: Is it morally acceptable to honor one's word over one's principles? The contention arises from the belief that one's word, or commitment, is an external manifestation of their inner morality, whereas principles are the embodiment of intrinsic moral and ethical guidelines. The lack of morality in prioritizing commitments over principles represents a conflict within one's ethical compass, potentially leading to harmful consequences.
To start with, it's essential to underscore the inherent value of honoring one's word. Keeping commitments is often viewed as a bedrock of integrity, trustworthiness, and reliability, which are virtues celebrated in personal relationships, professional environments, and social structures. However, an unwavering dedication to uphold one's word, even at the expense of violating one's principles (and those principles of the electorate that voted you into office), can manifest as a lack of moral clarity.
Fundamentally, principles form the moral compass guides an individuals' actions and decisions. These principles are often deeply entrenched, reflecting personal beliefs, ethics, and values. It is these principles that inform our definition of what is right or wrong, good or bad, and that provide us with a guiding light in the face of ethical dilemmas. When one chooses to honor their word over their principles, they're essentially subordinating their core ethical convictions to a temporary verbal commitment. Such a choice can be construed as an indication of weak moral standing, a lack of consistency, and a breach of one's own ethical code.
Moreover, prioritizing word over principle can lead to a slippery slope of moral degradation. By compromising principles for the sake of keeping one's word, individuals may slowly lose sight of their moral bearings. This can result in a dilution of their ethical standards and lead to behaviors that would have otherwise been considered unacceptable under the light of their principles. Over time, the individual might find themselves engaged in a continuous cycle of self-betrayal, leading to a decline in their morals.
Furthermore, placing word above principle could also compromise societal ethics. Society is a reflection of the collective values and principles of its constituents. When these principles are subordinated to individual commitments, societal ethics will start to fray at the edges. This erosion will disrupt clear thought, leading to the breakdown of trust, mutual respect, and social cohesion, thus causing public harm.
There's no denying that honoring one's word is an important virtue, but not at the expense of one's principles. Principles form the bedrock of an individual's moral identity, offering a moral compass that should guide all decisions, including those related to upholding commitments. Adhering to this approach, individuals can ensure that their actions align with their ethical beliefs, thereby fostering authentic and morally consistent behaviors.
In conclusion, while it is important to honor one's commitments, it should never override one's principles. The act of privileging one's word over one's principles represents a lack of morality and has potential harmful implications for both the individual and the society at large. It is, therefore, incumbent upon us to engage in ethical introspection and calibrate our moral compass, ensuring that our words and actions align seamlessly with our principles, forming a coherent and robust moral identity.
So, what’s next? All I am asking is for Anthony Hartsook to deliver a heartfelt formal written apology to his constituents for this error on day one of his representing HD 44, by voting for a Democrat Speaker of the House. Until the apology is made, I will not be going away concerning this issue. Although the House is not in session, I will not relent. This travesty of a voting failure will follow Anthony Hartsook like hitting a skunk with your car. The stink will not go away. I will make sure of it.
Do the right thing Representative Hartsook, and write that apology.

Douglas County School Board
I see nothing happening from the Douglas County School Board on approving trained, armed teachers or adding additional SRO's.
Arming teachers can significantly enhance the safety and security of our schools. Teachers are trusted individuals who have direct contact with students and possess a deep understanding of their needs and behaviors. By arming them, we empower them to become the first line of defense against potential threats.
In emergency situations such as active shooter incidents, every second counts. Arming teachers enables an immediate response, allowing them to take quick action to protect their students and themselves. With proper training and background checks, teachers can effectively handle firearms and potentially neutralize threats before law enforcement arrives.
The presence of armed teachers also acts as a powerful deterrent. Potential attackers are less likely to target schools where they know that teachers have the ability to respond with force. This proactive measure can discourage violent individuals from even considering such actions, creating a safer environment for everyone.
Furthermore, teachers possess an intimate knowledge of their school's layout, policies, and student population. This familiarity allows them to respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies. They can navigate the premises, protect students in their care, and provide valuable information to law enforcement.
By arming teachers, we reduce vulnerability in schools where professional security personnel may be limited or nonexistent. This additional layer of protection ensures that our children are safer while they pursue their education. It instills a sense of security and peace of mind for both students and their parents.
Of course, implementing such a policy requires careful consideration and comprehensive training programs. Teachers must undergo extensive firearm training, emergency response drills, and psychological evaluations to ensure their suitability for carrying weapons on campus. Clear protocols and guidelines must also be established to minimize the risk of accidents or misuse.
Arming teachers is a proactive step towards safeguarding our schools. By empowering these trusted individuals with the means to protect their students, we create a safer environment that deters potential threats, provides rapid response, and utilizes the knowledge and familiarity of those already deeply invested in the well-being of our students.

Douglas County School Board Race this November
This November, there will be 3 seats open on the Douglas County School Board. You can bet that the Dems are already foaming at the mouth to win/keep these seats. AND I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT THIS IS A NON-PARTISAN RACE.
- District A - Susan Meek (West Highlands Ranch)
- District C - Elizabeth Hanson (Central and South Highlands Ranch)
- District F - David Ray - term limited (Parker Area)
We need to find individuals to run for the school board with strong conservative principles. They also need to be willing to challenge opposition in allowing FASTER-trained (or equivalent) teachers to carry sidearms in school.
They also need a strong opposition to all things CRT that are still being allowed in DougCo schools.
Candidates need to live in the districts that have an opening. The entire county will vote for all of the candidates.
If you are thinking about running, I would like to hear from you. Contact Mark Here
So far, we know of three candidates, one for each district:
Dave DiCarlo
Andy Jones
Maria Sumnicht
I have been contacted and met with a couple of patriots looking to run in Districts A and C (as a team). They are very pro 2A and NO on the mill levy increases. More to follow should they decide to run. It will make things interesting!
It is absolutely imperative for Republican conservatives to vehemently reject any notion of voting for mill levy increases for schools. Their core principles and the long-term interests of the economy and society are undeniably at stake.
Above all, fiscal responsibility must be upheld with unwavering commitment. While investing in education is commendable, blindly increasing mill levies without stringent accountability measures (like the last mill levy) will only perpetuate wasteful spending and squander precious taxpayer resources. Republicans must ardently demand responsible budgeting and unwavering transparency to ensure that every dollar invested in education yields maximum returns.
Furthermore, conservatives hold sacred the principles of limited government intervention and individual freedom. Mill levy increases place an oppressive burden on hardworking taxpayers, curtailing their ability to exercise autonomy over their own earnings. Such tax hikes have the potential to stifle economic growth, discourage investment, and dampen the spirit of entrepreneurship that drives our nation forward. Republicans must passionately champion alternatives, such as promoting robust school choice initiatives and advocating for innovative solutions that revolutionize education without resorting to coercive tax increases.
Moreover, history has consistently demonstrated that pouring more money into schools does not inherently guarantee improved educational outcomes. Merely relying on escalating mill levies without demanding tangible results only perpetuates a flawed system. Republicans must forcefully advocate for transformative reforms that prioritize accountability, merit-based evaluations, and the efficient utilization of existing resources.
Republican conservatives cannot afford to waver in their steadfast opposition to mill levy increases for schools. Their resolute commitment to fiscal responsibility, individual freedom, and prudent resource allocation will pave the way for genuine educational reform. By relentlessly championing alternative solutions and demanding unwavering accountability, conservatives can usher in a new era of excellence in education while upholding their core principles.

Chairman Colorado State GOP Dave Williams
Notable actions by the state party...
A follow-up to my article in the last issue of the Badger on this subject. Following was written by Dave Williams:
....This past Monday, the Colorado Republican State Executive Committee overwhelming voted to pass a resolution that admonished, rebuked, and reprimanded Republican State Rep. Ron Weinberg, State Rep. Rick Taggart, Castle Pines Councilman Roger Hudson, and Douglas County Commissioner Abe Laydon for signing a letter authored by radical Democrats who want to push the mutilation and chemical castration of children.... Not all venues are open to Conservatives?
I have been hearing from other leaders in the Douglas County community that they have been turned away from holding meetings at churches and our DC libraries. This is very troubling, to say the least.
Why churches would do this makes absolutely no sense. But the libraries are for public use. Public libraries must unequivocally be open to all political groups. They are not just repositories of books, but vital cornerstones of democracy, championing free speech, equal access to resources, and neutrality. Any exclusion of political groups is a direct assault on these values, fostering division and promoting intolerance. This is not about endorsing all political views, but about facilitating crucial discourse. Exclusion is not an option. By ensuring every citizen's right to express their views, we solidify a vibrant, robust democracy. Let us fiercely defend the role of libraries as bastions of inclusiveness and free thought.
Is this retribution for our stand against a few books that are pornographic? Or our position of not wanting Drag Queen shows for children's story hours? I am in the process of CORA request for emails of the Douglas County Library Leadership. Board, and it's employees.

So, a question you might have is, “why Honey Badger”?
Honey Badgers have been described in the Guinness Book of Records as the "most fearless animal in the world" and can even fight off much larger predators like lions and hyenas if challenged. We know the political landscape is filled with hyenas, thus, we need the Honey Badger.
If you have a Parker or Douglas County topic that needs attention brought to it, please submit it to: Honey Badger Report, mark.hampton@comcast.net. I will review it and see about adding it to the monthly publication.
