Parker Conservatives Third Year Anniversary
Three years ago, in April 2021, amidst the Colorado lockdowns, J6, and the dawn of the Biden administration, Pam and I embarked on what would become one of our most challenging adventures yet. We decided it was high time for voices like ours to be heard and for conservative principles for American First values to stand tall in Parker and Douglas County. Our first meeting was set in the Laszlo Hotel Bar and Restaurant after our unceremonious ejection from West Main. It was a pivotal moment, one that would not have been possible without the efforts of Danielle Ozaluk, who provided us with a space for our meeting and Doug’s Day Dinner, filling the breakfast orders.
That morning, as I gripped the microphone, I looked out at the 35 faces before me. Each one a testament to the belief that even the smallest gatherings can ignite change. That very photo of me, microphone in hand, has become an enduring symbol of our beginnings, a reminder of the day we all took a stand together. If you were there that morning, know that Pam and I are eternally grateful.
Over the years, the political landscape has been both a teacher and a battleground. I’ve met a myriad of individuals, each with their own story and their own perspective. These encounters have profoundly shaped my views, challenging me to reconsider my stance on many issues I thought I had nailed down, like the Caucus system. Once skeptical, I’ve come to see its value through the guidance and sometimes blunt wake-up calls from some of our great grassroots conservative leaders. I’ve learned that if we want candidates who truly represent our conservative values, we must advocate for closed Republican primaries, put an end to petitioning onto the primary ballot, and keep the Caucus alive for generations to come.
Today, Parker Conservatives stands strong with 1,600 members across Facebook and our direct mailing list. This journey, filled with learning and growth, wouldn’t have been possible without your unwavering support and encouragement. The future of Parker Conservatives is an unwritten path, but Pam and I are committed to pushing forward and never relenting in our fight for the conservative values that bind us as a community, as citizens of Parker and Douglas County, and as part of this great nation.
To all who have joined us, from the original 35 to the newest members, thank you. Your faith, your support, and your dedication fuel this movement. As we look ahead, let’s continue to stand united, champion the conservative principles we hold dear, and face whatever challenges come our way with the same resolve and spirit that has brought us this far. Here’s to the past three incredible years and to the many more ahead of us. Let's keep the flame of conservatism burning bright in Parker, in Douglas County, and across America.
THANK YOU!

It’s a Party, who did you Invite?
Consistency is not a hallmark of the Dems, nor, apparently, the Colorado judiciary when it comes to the purity of party politics. And so it goes, the Colorado Republican Party's attempt to prevent the party equivalent of tourists, those unaffiliated voters, from continuing to crash the GOP primary party has been swatted down by a federal judge.
Why is this ruling the equivalent of a participation trophy in the race for political coherence? Well, let's indulge in a little thing called logic. If you're not part of a club, you typically don't get to sway its decisions. Imagine, if you will, a vegan deciding what's on the grill at the local steakhouse, it’s absurd, right? Yet here we are, with the largest bloc of voters in Colorado, who can't decide if they're coming or going, being given a say in a party they haven't committed to. It's like letting your neighbor's cousin's friend vote on the family vacation destination.
Kudos indeed to Dave Williams for advocating for a closed primary. It’s simple, if you want a say in the Republican party, put a ring on it. Join the party. Commit. Don’t just swipe right when it's convenient.
But no, the court says that the semi-open primary system doesn't violate the GOP's constitutional rights. It seems the court finds the concept of keeping things in-house as archaic as a landline. And to those within the GOP who champion this 'open relationship' with unaffiliated voters, we must ask, do you also leave your front door open, hoping a wandering illegal alien will move into your guest room?
The argument that this will lead to more moderate candidates is like saying adding water to whiskey makes a better drink, it doesn't, it just dilutes the spirit. The GOP's spirit, its conservative backbone, is at risk of being watered down by those who haven’t signed up for the full conservative experience.
Now, some within the GOP ranks argue that courting the unaffiliated is essential for victory in a general election. To that I say, since when do we court the middle before we've even decided on our entree?
So, what's the solution? A return to the caucus system, much like our friends in Iowa, seems like a noble path. It's not without its flaws, but at least it ensures that those who are making the decisions are those with skin in the game, not those who just show up for the game-day snacks.
The Colorado GOP should be able to host its own party without the court mandating a guest list. If unaffiliated voters want a voice in the Republican primary, there's a simple solution, join the party. Otherwise, it's just party-crashing, and everyone knows a party with uninvited guests rarely goes according to plan.

Douglas County Assembly Highlights
repost from Facebook 3/24/2024
My friends of the Douglas County GOP, grab your freedom fries and hold onto your MAGA hats because, boy, do I have a tale for you. Picture this: Douglas County, Colorado Assembly, 2024. The air was crisp, the stakes were high, and the spirit of freedom was so thick you could spread it on your breakfast burrito. And let me just start by tipping my hat—no, not the MAGA one, the other one, to the tireless officers of the Douglas County GOP. These champions of liberty organized an Assembly so smooth it made George Washington’s wooden teeth seem like a modern marvel of orthodontics.
Now, let's talk about the star of the early morning show: Robin Webb. With a name that sounds like she could be the superhero we need but probably don't deserve, Robin swooped into the 1st Vice Chair position at DCGOP and let me tell you, the cheer was so loud I thought we were at a freedom rally. Nice job, Robin!
But hold your applause, folks, because there's more. A big ol’ THANK YOU to all the candidates who didn't just talk the talk but walked the walk, FOLLOWING the process and gracing us with their presence. And to the CD4 candidates who showed up in person, you’re the real MVPs. Your dedication to addressing the Assembly was greatly appreciated.
Now, for a taste of the action, and I don't mean the kind coming back up after downing one of the food truck breakfast burritos. No, sir.
Brandi Bradley in HD39 didn’t just win, she crushed it with 91% of the vote. In the world of grassroots conservative politics, that’s what we call a grand slam.
Then there’s HD43, where Lora and Matt are neck and neck, proving that every vote counts.
And let’s not forget Anthony Hartsook in HD44, winning by acclamation and giving me a good chuckle hearing I came up in his finest hour, lol.
Bill Jack trotted forward in HD45 by acclamation. Max Brooks, the other Republican in the race, that did not show up, letting us all see he has the backbone of a jellyfish.
But the pièce de résistance? Senate District 2, where Tim Arvidson emerged victorious by acclamation. And oh, “Liberal Lisa,” bless her heart, stuck around all day only to watch the Assembly and press the flesh. But when it came time for the Senate District 2 vote, she was missing just like Waldo. If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about her appeal to Douglas County voters, I don’t know what will. More on this in the weeks to come…
….
Let's not forget our County Commissioners races, George Teal, cruising to victory by acclamation.
Kevin Van Winkle narrowly edged out John Carson. It was so close, folks, you’d think they were running for the last breakfast burrito! Oh, don’t forget, there is one more in this race, Priscilla Rahn. She can take time to politic at the Douglas County Pride Fest but not in her party’s Assembly. I say a vote for her is a vote against the Republican party and all the values and principles we hold dear.
Let’s focus on the big picture of freedom, the Constitution, and our shared victories. So, here’s to you, DCGOP. Here’s to us. Let’s keep making Douglas County the bastion of freedom and common sense it’s meant to be. Onward and upward, fellow patriots!
P.S. Jimmy Sengenberger, a word of advice: When nature calls, kindly opt for a restroom not wrapped in the universal symbol for "do not enter." Despite the array of available options, your choice to duck under the "CLOSED" tape not only showcased a baffling defiance of common sense but also caught the eye of more than a few onlookers.

The Maverick of Parker:
Mayor Jeff Toborg's Reelection Odyssey
Ladies and gentlemen, “fasten your seatbelts and keep your hands and feet inside at all times” as we embark on a narrative journey through the political landscape of Parker Colorado, spotlighting a man who isn’t just navigating the tumultuous waters of governance but is steering the ship with an unwavering hand and a clear vision. Yes, we're talking about Mayor Jeff Toborg of Parker, a figure who combines the intellect of an experienced strategist with the magic of a grassroots champion. As he throws his hat into the ring for reelection this November, let's unravel the saga of a leader who makes political engagement as compelling as reading the Honey Badger each month.
In a saga that began on the shores of California, a young Jeff Toborg, at the age of six, embarked on his political journey armed with nothing but homemade signs for Gerald Ford. This was the dawn of a conservative powerhouse whose political aspirations were ignited by his grandmother’s resolve and the community’s needs. From a spirited attempt to win a city council seat to safeguard a senior center to his ascent as the Maverick Mayor of Parker, Jeff’s tale is one of passion, resilience, unyielding commitment to his community, and his conservative values and principles.
As he eyes reelection, Mayor Toborg isn’t just running on a platform, he’s running on a legacy of transformative leadership. His approach? A blend of common-sense conservatism and innovation, aiming to propel Parker into a future where economic growth and the community blend harmoniously. Jeff is a warrior in the truest sense, fighting not for the sake of battle but for the love of his town, ever ready to champion the cause of the people who call Parker home.
Central to his tenure and his campaign is the bold move to repeal the grocery sales tax, a decision that epitomizes Toborg’s philosophy, governance rooted in empathy, foresight, and a deep-seated belief in lifting the yoke from those least able to bear it. This policy isn’t just a line item on a fiscal spreadsheet, it’s a statement of values, underscoring Jeff’s commitment to fairness and community welfare.
Mayor Toborg, his vision for Parker extends beyond economic metrics or legislative victories. it’s about fostering a community where support systems are not mandated but naturally woven into the fabric of everyday life. Jeff envisions a Parker that thrives on mutual support, from rallying around food drives to supporting local initiatives that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
As we edge closer to November, the story of Mayor Jeff Toborg is far from over. It’s a continuing narrative of dedication, service, and a relentless pursuit of a community that doesn’t just grow but flourishes together. Jeff Toborg isn’t merely seeking reelection, he’s aspiring to continue his journey of making Parker a beacon of conservative governance, community solidarity, and a place where every day is a testament to the power of serving with heart.
So, let’s rally behind Mayor Jeff Toborg as he seeks to lead Parker, guided by principles of integrity, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to the community. In the political arena of Parker, Jeff stands not just as a candidate but as a symbol of what it means to lead with conviction, compassion, and a deep-rooted love for the town he’s proud to call home.
"I want Christians to consider who they vote for. We look a lot at the presidential elections. And that's where so much of our focus is, especially from the media, but some of the most important elections are the local elections - the mayors, city council members, county commissioners, school boards.
How important school boards are - and we need to get Christian men and women running for office.
We need Christian men and women not only running for office but voting and getting behind other
Christians that are running for office".

Town of Parker, Town Counsel 2023 Voting Record
Up for Re-Election Nov 2024
John Diak, Councilmember (Republican)
Laura Hefta, Councilmember (Republican)
Todd Hendreks, Councilmember (Unaffiliated)
Well, folks, gather around because I've got a yarn to spin that's so outlandish, you'd think it was ripped straight from comedy night at the Pace Center, except it's happening right under our noses in the charming council chambers of The Town of Parker. Now, if you believe that the illustrious council members, all six of them, holding hands in unanimous decision-making 843 times, are just a stroke of serendipitous unity, I've got an oceanfront property in Parker to sell you.
This miraculous miracle of thought begs the question, are we witnessing the pinnacle of political telepathy or a farce masquerading as democracy? The math wizards have crunched the numbers, and the probability of this "unity" is about as likely as spotting a unicorn at the Tailgate bar. It's not just unlikely, it's cosmically improbable even after too many tequila shots at Tailgate. And let's be honest, when was the last time anything in government was that harmonious without a little nudge-nudge, wink-wink?
Let's take a stroll down memory lane to a little place called Bell, California, where the term "public servant" went sideways. Now, while they weren't necessarily toasting each other over unanimous council votes, the heart of the matter is the same, when accountability takes a nap, democracy gets mugged in the back alley.
So, what's the solution for our good citizens of The Town of Parker? It's not rocket science. We need a Town Council that's more like a box of chocolates, a conservative mix of free thinkers where you never know what you're gonna get. Otherwise, we might as well swap out council meetings for reruns of "Friends", because that's how chummy the vote counts are looking.
To bring this tale to an end, unless we want our local governance to be a rubber-stamp fiesta (like what we have now), we need to usher in a new wave of council members this November who actually ponder the word 'No' as more than a mythical concept. Otherwise, we're just watching a badly scripted play where the ending is as predictable as a sunrise, and let me tell you, that's not the democracy we signed up for or should receive from our elected officials.
Here are the statistics for the 2023 voting records through 12/4/2023 of the Parker Town Council:
Joshua Rivero
Total Votes: 140
Yes Votes: 139
No Votes: 1
Missed Votes: 20

John Diak
Total Votes:

Anne Barrington
Total Votes: 153

Laura Hefta
Total Votes: 145
Yes Votes: 143
No Votes: 2
Missed Votes: 15
Jeff Toborg (Mayor, Tie Breaker)
Total Votes: 0
Yes Votes: 0
No Votes: 0
Total Across All Members:
Yes Votes: 843
No Votes: 9
The probability of achieving 843 unanimous 'Yes' votes among 6 differing council members, under the assumption of each vote being independent, is astronomically low, effectively approaching zero*. This would suggest pre-determined outcomes on votes.
*Analyzed by a statistical resource (not opinion).
These vote records were pulled directly from the minutes of the Town Council meetings in 2023. I omitted all the “come to order” votes and the “adjourn” votes from the count.

The Threat of Buying Bibles
Oh, the times we live in! Where buying a Bible or shopping at our local Cabela’s might just land you on some government watchlist, right alongside nefarious characters who prefer to bring buildings down. The audacity, I tell you! It's as if the folks at the Treasury Department have run out of real crimes to investigate, so they've turned their all-seeing eye toward the oh-so-suspicious act of purchasing religious texts. Because, you know, nothing screams "threat to national security" quite like the Sermon on the Mount.
And let's talk about this newfound hobby of the federal government, surveillance. It's like they've confused the Bible Belt for the Iron Curtain. Last I checked, my purchase on Amazon of the “New Christian Bible” didn't come with a side of espionage. But hey, in an era where the line between "being a devout Christian" and "suspicious activity" is blurrier than Bigfoot footage, who can say?
The real kicker here is the sheer irony of it all. The same folks who preach about tolerance and freedom of expression are the ones seemingly convinced that a copy of the Good Book might just be the next tool of insurrection. Because, as history clearly shows, nothing overthrows regimes quite like praying.
And let's not forget the international context because, apparently, the U.S. is taking cues from the likes of North Korea and the Taliban when it comes to religious freedom. Who knew that the Land of the Free was competing in the Oppression Olympic and aiming for gold, no less!
But fear not, fellow believers. While our government might be spending your hard-earned tax dollars to ensure your Bible purchase doesn't conceal nefarious intentions, remember the wise words of John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." So, let's stay vigilant because, apparently, in today's world, being a Christian and owning a Bible might just be the most radical act of all.
"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force."
Ayn Rand

The Fall of the Centennial State, Progressivism in Progress
Ah, my home of Colorado, the once proud defender of rugged individualism and frontier spirit, now seemingly caught in the grip of an ever-encroaching progressive agenda. It's as if we've stumbled into a reality where the very essence of what made the Centennial State great is being systematically dismantled, piece by progressive piece. But fear not, my dear residents of Douglas County, for in the grand tradition of the sarcastic wit and unapologetic candor, let's dissect this tragic comedy of errors.
Once upon a time, Colorado was akin to a youthful athlete, sprinting through the annals of history with a vigor and resilience that whispered tales of eternal glory. Fast forward, and it seems we've traded in our hiking boots for a pair of politically correct, one-size-fits-none, biodegradable hemp sandals. The narrative has shifted, and not for the better. The state that once breathed life into the American Dream now wheezing under the weight of progressive policy.
Let's consider the Roman Empire. Yes, that's right. Rome, the behemoth of antiquity that once believed, it too, was invincible. Emperor Pollsmoker is finding out the Empire is crumbing, not at the hands of invaders initially (those pesky Californians), but through the rush of illegals and progressive values and principles, rotting it from the inside out, like a worm in an apple.
Our beloved state has veered off course, trading in its pioneering spirit for a seat at the table of high-tax, high regulation, and over every conceivable social issue. Economic vitality and entrepreneurial spirit are being suffocated under the weight of attempts to legislate prosperity and equality. In Douglas County, we see the symptoms spreading like an aggressive skin cancer. Our communities grappling with policies that often seem more suited to a social experiment than the rugged landscapes of Colorado.
Our cities, once jewels of the West, now face the challenges of safety and social degeneration, working hard to catch cities like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, where the conversation has bizarrely shifted from pioneering innovation and prosperity to which pronoun best fits the mood of the day. It's as if the very fabric of what made America, and indeed Colorado, a beacon of hope and opportunity is being rewoven into a tapestry of tents and feces.
And let's not even get started on the economic front. The national debt might as well be a scoreboard at this point, tallying up points in a game where everyone loses. Colorado, in its own microcosm, is not immune to this fiscal folly. The state's budget, like the nation's, seems to be under the impression that money grows on the evergreen TABOR trees.
In the cultural arena, we've gone from celebrating the achievements of pioneers and innovators to a society where the loudest voices in the room are those championing the virtues of victim hood and vilifying the very principles of hard work and personal responsibility.
But all is not lost, my fellow Coloradans. The spirit of the West still lives within us. The fight for the soul of our state, much like the national battle, is one we must undertake with the tenacity of a pioneer facing the Rocky Mountains for the first time. It's time to saddle up, embrace the sarcasm as our weapon of choice, and reclaim the narrative.
The path forward is clear, we must channel the indomitable spirit that has defined Colorado from its inception. It's time to stand up for the principles of freedom, personal responsibility, and the unyielding pursuit of opportunity that have been the bedrock of this great state. The mountains before us may seem daunting, but remember, we are Coloradans - we've conquered peaks before, and we shall do so again.

When Swinging a Hammer, don't Hit your Hand
Have you ever watched someone deliberately smack their hand with a hammer, and as you rush over to help, they just stand up and do it again? It’s the kind of bewildering, self-destructive behavior that leaves you scratching your head in disbelief. Now, if that person were leading a country (and they are), you’d have a pretty accurate picture of the Biden administration.
Why, you might ask, does it seem like our elected officials are so hell-bent on policies that are the equivalent of smacking our hands over and over with that hammer? It's a question worth digging into, especially when those very policies trample over the Constitution and the conservative values we hold dear.
Let's consider, for a moment, how nations traditionally acted in their own best interest. It's a simple concept, you do what's best for your people, your economy, your national security. If there's a conflict with another country, you negotiate, you might even go to war, or you find some middle ground. But you always, always put your people first. But not the Biden administration.
Yet, here we are, witnessing a strange era where Western nations, including our own, are adopting globalist policies that directly contradict the interests of us, the citizens. Why, for instance, are farmers in Europe blockading roads with tractors? Because their governments, in a misguided crusade against climate change, are implementing policies that will inevitably lead to food shortages and skyrocketing prices. Those same policies are coming to America, some are already here.
And what’s the Biden administration doing along with the Uniparty? Embracing every aspect of this irrationality. They're hamstringing our energy independence, kneecapping our agricultural sector, and seemingly doing everything they can to make life more expensive and less free for the average American. It's as if they’re more concerned with the approval of globalist climate conferences than the well-being of the folks right here in America.
So why this self-destructive streak? The harsh truth is that many of our politicians don’t see their primary role as serving their citizens anymore. This is true in Parker, Douglas County, Colorado, and at the Federal level. They see themselves as citizens of the world, if asked they will proudly tell you that. They're on a quest to solve global problems that do not exist, even if it means ignoring the very real problems at their doorstep. These arrogant elected officials and bureaucrats treat us as small children who don’t know what’s good, so they must dictate solutions to us.
Take the energy sector, for instance. It’s no secret that energy independence is key to our national security and America’s economic prosperity. Yet, the Biden administration is determined to undermine it at every turn. They restrict oil exploration, throw up roadblocks for pipeline permits, and seem intent on making us more dependent on Green and foreign energy. And for what? To appease some nebulous global agenda that China and India won’t lose a wink of sleep over.
It's a bitter pill to swallow when you realize that while China ramps up coal production, we’re being told to cut back on everything from air travel to meat consumption and be ready to give up our gas stoves and air conditioning. This isn’t rational behavior, it's the politics of self-flagellation, and the Biden administration is winning the Gold Medal.
The reality is stark, countries like China act in their own interest, and we act... well, also in their interest. That's why you're seeing a surge of support for leaders who aren’t afraid to put America First. People are tired of seeing their leaders kowtow to global interests while they can barely afford to fill their gas tanks and buy food in the same week.
Remember, my fellow citizens, the ultimate power lies with us, the voters. It’s time to support strong grassroots candidates (not Establishment, not RINOs) who will look after our interests, who will fight for our constitutional rights, and who will ensure that America doesn’t just become a footnote in someone else’s global fantasy.

So, a question you might have is, “Why Honey Badger”?
Honey Badgers have been described in the Guinness Book of Records as the "most fearless animal in the world" and can even fight off much larger predators like lions and hyenas if challenged. We know the political landscape is filled with hyenas, thus, we need the Honey Badger.
