helloThe Olympics have just wrapped up and, while our 28 medals are definitely swoon-worthy, the most memorable moment didn’t see the podium at all.
Just into his short program, figure skater Jeremy Abbott fell hard and smashed into the boards. As he lay there for what felt like forever, wincing and holding his hip, we grimaced too. Yet, resounding applause from the audience helped Abbott not only to get up but to complete his program with strength and elegance.
As football legend Vince Lombardi said, “It’s not whether you get knocked down, but how you get up.” Dan Waldschmidt, author of “19 Hard Things You Need to Do to Be Successful” knows this. So do Google Books and Netflix, who took things that seemed down for the count (e.g., out-of-print books, black-and-white movies, TV shows nearly forgotten) and found a new way to make them thrive. And when you are thriving again, CVS shows us the importance of staying true to what got you there.
