Founder's Day
Ice Cream Social
The EDS Parent Group is hosting the Founder's Day Ice Cream Social on Friday, September 6th, at 3:30 PM. Celebrate your child's first week of school with ice cream compliments of Parent Group.

End of Day
Parents are reminded to send children to school with an understanding of where they are headed after school- bus rider, car loop, after-care, etc. Please be sure to notify your child and their teacher of their method of departure.

Parent Group
Parent Group will host their first meeting of the school year on Monday, September 9th at 8:30 AM in the Conference Room. At this meeting parents will learn about this year's initiatives, sign up for committees, and meet other engaged families. Room Representatives are requested to attend.

Parent Information Forms
A reminder that the EDS Main Office requires all parent information forms (Emergency Contact Information, Medical Power of Attorney, Photo Consent, etc.) to be returned by Monday, September 16th. Forms can be found on TADS.

Founder's Day
Morning Meeting
Parents and families are welcome to join EDS students and faculty for the Founder's Day Morning Meeting on Friday, September 6th at 8:30 AM. Mr. Gutowski will review the history of Erie Day School, honor summer birthdays, meet our new friends, and welcome Miss Megan Maughn, Miss Saige Slater, Mrs. Cheyenne Carpinello, & Mrs. Lindsay Dodis.

Educate is our new internal online tool for parents to receive information from EDS about upcoming events and notices from a student's classroom and subject areas teachers. Camp Fitch Retreat
EDS Grades 3 & 4 students will travel to Camp Fitch September 18th - 20th. Please have your forms returned to your homeroom teacher ASAP! Questions can be directed to Ms. Giannelli or Miss Maughn .

Grandparent &
Special Friends
In your Back-to-School paperwork, you will see the Grandparent & Special Friends form. This form is used to generate the invitations for Grandparents & Special Friends Day [to be held November 8th]. Please include complete addresses so that we can ensure that the day is perfectly planned for your student.

Absence Request Form
In order to provide the highest level of uninterrupted learning, parents are requested to complete the Student Leave Request Form for planned student absences. This form can be found in Educate and should be submitted two weeks prior to a departure for a trip, event, etc. Please also email teachers with a request for homework two weeks prior to the departure.

2nd Annual Founding Mothers Gathering
The second annual Founding Mothers Gathering will be held on Sunday, October 6th from 11AM to 1 PM. Please join us for brunch-y bites, coffee & mimosas, and beautiful music by Zack Orr- all while joining in our effort!
This year, the funds raised from the Founding Mothers Gathering will be dedicated to enhancing the beauty and accessibility of Erie Day School's campus. Specifically, the money will go toward creating a new walkway that connects the school grounds to the Sixth Street sidewalk, making our campus more welcoming and safely accessible.

Mandarin Classes
EDS is enrolling for Saturday Mandarin classes during the school year. Early Introduction, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced students will learn the spoken and written Chinese language and culture through games, songs and rhymes in a small class setting. Classes will take place at Erie Day School on Saturdays. Scheduling will be dependent on enrollment. One on one and cyber-classes will also be available for those with conflicts. Erie Day School Recognition Tree
Erie Day School offers a unique opportunity for families to etch their legacy into the institution's history by purchasing a leaf for our Recognition Tree. Crafted by local artist Adam Stempka of Stempka Designs, this custom piece invites families to honor or remember a student, teacher, philanthropist, or special person or family with a laser-engraved birch leaf. The tree is located on exterior wall at the Griffith Lobby entrance patio.
