The Domaine de Grange de Payan Cotes du Rhone 2021 simply put it is very well made, ready to drink now (short term cellaring up to 24 months) and in my opinion the greatest Cotes d Rhone Value in the World! I have tasted dozens of Cotes Du Rhones over the last year and many great ones but none I can offer at this ridiculous price! I highly recommend to stock up on this one now!
On the perifery of the village of St. Gervais, Domaine de Grange de Payan is a family owned estate of about 30 hectares. The vineyards consist primarily of Syrah & Grenache, with small plots of Carignan & Cinsaut. While some of the parcels are sloped, most are horizontally terraced plots overlooking the Cèze river consisting of limestone and clay soil with some sandy soils and limestone scree from the terraces above. Yields at the domaine are restricted by the infertility of the soils and typically reach 40-45 hl./ha. – which is 10% 20% lower than the allowed maximums for Côtes du Rhône. Low yield = better fruit = better wine!
We are also offering the Boissy & Delaygue - Lou Pontias Cotes Du Rhone 2021 (Decanter 95 Points) which is a fuller bodied style as this is mainly Syrah. Both of these Rhones are perfect summer reds and pair well with just about anything off the grill!

About Sugar Bear Ice Cream
From Emily! Ice cream has such a beautiful way of bringing out the child in us all, no matter our age. I think that's pretty special. I started making ice cream when my kids were tiny and I was immediately hooked. It all started with one small machine. Then I got a bigger machine and then, an even bigger machine. I began studying ice cream and collecting every recipe I could find, and what started as a hobby turned into an all-consuming passion. I enrolled in the Ice Cream Short Course at Penn State, which has been running for over 125 years and draws people from around the globe. Upon graduation, I started SugarBear, set up shop and never looked back.
I focus on flavors that are built around locally grown or created ingredients. My goal is to celebrate food, small business, and community. Each flavor is made from scratch and reflects the authenticity, joy and creativity of people who live and work in Charlottesville, VA.
