As the first quarter of 2014 comes to an end we are proud to announce that the Golden Gate Chapter of the RMA has been awarded the "Platinum Star Award" at RMA's Annual Risk Management Conference in Philadelphia, as the top large chapter in the Western Region.  This award signifies an enormous contribution by our chapter's dedicated board of directors this past year. 


The STAR Report involves Structure, Planning & Leadership, Educational Programming, Membership Development, Communication, and Marketing. The Platinum Award is the highest award, given out to only one RMA Chapter per region. Thirteen other states in the Western Region competed for this award.

Thank you to our entire Board of Directors for their ongoing efforts & support of the Golden Gate Chapter of the RMA.

As you can see from the articles in this issue of the G3 we have been very busy in the first quarter with many successful events already held and many exciting programs coming up in the next few months.  2014 marks the 100 year Anniversary of the RMA and we not only have some special events on the way to celebrate but we have $100 off all training classes that we are holding.

GGRMA's First Women In Banking Leadership Panel A Huge Success
 
The Golden Gate Chapter of the RMA recently held its very first Women In Banking Leadership Panel. This special event, held at the City Club of SF, presented guests with the opportunity to hear from three senior executives who overcame obstacles to reach the well-deserved success they have achieved. Our Panel consisted of Tani Girton of Bank of Marin, Arcinee Hovanessian of Bank of the West, and Kat Taylor of One Pacific Coast Bank, with moderator Nancy Crooks of Union Bank. Discussion topics ranged from economic viability in the Bay Area to the importance of diversity. Thank you to our Women In Leadership Panel and all our guests who attended this rare opportunity and we hope to see you at our next event!

GGRMA's First Young Professionals Networking Event 
 
The GGRMA recently hosted an event where young professionals in the finance industry had the opportunity to learn from local, well-connected leaders from all over the Bay Area. Guests were invited to Jillian's at the Metreon in downtown San Francisco for appetizers, drinks, and billiards while networking with experienced leaders within the industry. We were joined with bankers, CPA's, and other Bay Area professionals to encourage these upcoming business leaders to reach their career goals and overcome future obstacles. Thank you to those who joined us and we hope to see you at our next event.
 

Operational Risk Networking Event
 
Don't miss the chance to connect with professionals who specialize in operational risk at their institutions and other banking proffessionals.
