Proclaiming the Gospel; Equipping the Saints; Mobilizing the Church | While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!" Matthew 17:5

June 2023
Dear WMO Family,
| |
Shalom and blessings in Jesus our Lord. By God’s grace, this past month Darlene and I took a team of 24 to Israel for a wonderful Bible-teaching tour with emphasis on evangelism and God’s glory. Along with the teaching, the team had the opportunity to better understand God’s program and plan of redemption toward the world. Truly we have the Living God above us ruling over the realm of mankind (Daniel 4:33-34).
On this trip the team was exposed to the importance of Romans 1:16, bringing the Gospel to Jews and Gentiles; both Jewish and Muslim people need eternal life. There is a stronghold of tradition and religion that is very evident as we share the Gospel of Jesus. We see how many people are bound by a works-based religion. Everyone has been made in the image of God, but because of sin that image is marred, cut off from God. Praise the Lord for HIS great love in sending His only begotten Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sin so that everyone who believes can be restored back to God via the Gospel of Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
It was such a blessing to share the love God has for His chosen people. Our prayer is that the vision of Romans 1:16 will be carried back to the team’s homes and that they will be faithful with the Gospel of Jesus in their local communities. World Mission Outreach is grateful to God to be a tool to equip the church community to be a light to the world.
The Lord has put on our hearts to set aside the last two weeks of May in 2024 for another Israel Bible Journey. Pray about it. What a wonderful place to grow deeper in the Word of God and connect with the people of the Land. Be in touch with us if you are interested in joining this amazing Bible tour.
The team had the privilege to witness the salvation of three Jewish people on this trip. We are now following up to connect them with local congregations.
Meet Nicolas from Argentina
As the team waited to board the flight to Israel from Amsterdam, Nicolas (traveling with his companion dog) was watching our team and how we interacted with each other. Intrigued by what he saw, he asked about the team. After explaining our unity in Messiah Jesus and explaining the Gospel of Jesus, Nicolas told us that he is Jewish and, though not religious, he was searching for truth. He heard the Gospel in Argentina from friends who are believers in Messiah. I (Henry) realized that probably his friends were praying for him. So I gave an invitation to trust Messiah Jesus and Nicolas said, “Yes, I want to do that.” Praise be to God that Nicolas was drawn by the Holy Spirit to pray. He understood his sinful state and the need for redemption.

Meet Anatoly from the Ukraine, now living in Israel
The day after arrival in Israel, we were in a hotel in Netanya and the Lord God surprised the team again. While the team was eating breakfast, the manager of the restaurant, Anatoly, a Ukrainian Jew, was watching how united and joyful we were, and he was moved by what he saw. He wondered what brought us together. I explained that the Lord Jesus brought us together. After explaining the Gospel and giving an invitation, Anatoly was drawn by the Holy Spirit and he really wanted to know the Lord. He meant business with Jesus. This was a beautiful divine appointment. A church in Netanya is working on the follow-up. Thank you for your prayers for Anatoly to grow in Jesus.

Meet Shani, a local Sabra Israeli
Just before we left Israel, we took our staff to the Dead Sea. A local worker welcomed us as she remembered us from a previous visit in January when we had shared the Gospel with her in depth. The Word of God was planted in her heart. We had time to sit with her, share more Good News, and answer her questions. In our conversation, she was touched by the reality of the love of the Son of God versus tradition and religion. There was a big struggle to reconcile religion based on “what I do” versus a relationship based on “what He has done.” She understood the Gospel of grace.
| |
The big question Shani asked was, “Who is the Son of God?” We were reminded of Proverbs 30:4 where the writer asks, “What is His name and what is His Son’s name, if you know?” In days past, the Name had not been revealed. We see in Philippians 2:9-10 that His Name is Jesus, the Messiah. God has exalted Him and given Him the Name above every name. Praise God! An invitation was given to surrender and trust in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Shani really had to count the cost of believing and surrendering to Jesus as God the Son. This is truly the work of the Holy Spirit. She said “yes” and prayed right there. She then told us that she has a Peruvian friend living in Israel who is a believer. She has been praying for Shani. Shani also told us she took her to a congregation in Jerusalem which is evangelical! The Lord is so awesome. Please pray for Shani to grow and for her follow-up.
