They are mothers and fathers, daughters and sons. They're smart, funny, caring, creative, and insightful - determined and brave. They have hopes and dreams for themselves and for their families - the same as you and me.
The difference: they are experiencing challenges that change the course of their life - mental illness, addiction, developmental limitations, poverty, homelessness. It would be easy to lose sight of those hopes and dreams.
It takes bold, brave steps to heal. It takes support and encouragement to move forward. It takes equal access to treatment, to medical care, to opportunities. Sometimes, it takes help to hold on to hope.
