Spring 2024 Opening Information
Returning Resident Student Move-In Information
Students returning to the same housing assignment from Fall 2023 are eligible to return starting Saturday, January 13 after 9:00 a.m. No request is required.
Resident Student Move-In Information (Study Abroad and Room Change)
- Key distribution will begin on Saturday, January 13 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Housing Office, located in Rotunda 387. No request is required.
- Key distribution will continue on Sunday, January 14 at your student's residence hall between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- The final day of key distribution will be Monday, January 15 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Students can visit the Housing & Residential Life section of myMarist to view key distribution locations specific to their residence hall.
The Dining Hall will open for dinner on Monday, January 15, at 4:30 p.m.
Classes begin on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

RA Selection
Resident Assistant (RA) applications are opening for positions for the 2024-2025 academic year on January 17. In addition to free room and partial board as remuneration, the RA position will help develop your student's leadership, communication, and organizational skills among many other things.
Furthermore, the position will help set your student's résumé apart from their peers! Students should keep their eyes peeled to the Housing section of myMarist for a link to the RA application Brightspace page.
Applications are due by Wednesday, February 7.

2024 Public Service Career Trip to Washington, D.C., during Spring Break
Trip will be from March 11-13

Students are invited to apply to go on a three-day, two night Public Service Career Trip to Washington, D.C., from March 11-13, 2024 (during Spring Break). On the trip students will connect with Marist College alumni who work in a variety of fields and organizations based in Washington, D.C. They will attend an FBI Experience Tour, a networking event, career panels, and other discussions. There is a possibility that we will visit some national monuments and landmarks in the area.
Important Note: Students who are selected to attend this trip will need to pay a fee of approximately $350 that will cover hotel accommodations for three days/two nights and coach bus transportation between Marist College and Washington, D.C.
The trip is sponsored by the Marist College School of Liberal Arts, School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Center for Civic Engagement and Leadership, Center for Career Services, and Office of Alumni Relations.

Students can meet with a Center for Career Services team member to learn how to schedule an appointment in Handshake or for a brief résumé review. To meet with a career coach for an extended period of time they can schedule an appointment using their Handshake account.

Marist Club Hockey recognizes President Weinman with a customized jersey and a ceremonial puck drop before their 6-4 win over Eastern Connecticut State University on December 1.
Come support Club Hockey at the McCan Ice Arena, as they make their push to be ranked as a top 14 team to qualify for Regionals.

Math Lab
The Math Lab is a peer help/tutoring center staffed entirely by student tutors, located in Hancock Center Room 3021.
Students may drop in without an appointment to seek assistance with certain mathematics courses.
The Math Lab staff can provide assistance with the following courses:

- MATH 115 Calculus with Management Applications
- MATH 120 Precalculus
- MATH 241 Calculus I

Writing Center
The Marist Writing Center is another resource that offers free, one-on-one tutoring sessions to anyone in the Marist College community. They work with writers at any stage of the writing process and can help whether you are on your first or final draft.
Students can visit the site to learn more and schedule appointments.

Academic Learning Center
The Academic Learning Center hosts a variety of programs to assist students, all at no additional cost:
Academic Review and Drop-In Sessions:
- The Academic Learning Center sponsors review and drop-in sessions in various subjects for students in need of help.
- Available in fall and spring semesters.
Private Tutoring:
- The Academic Learning Center trains and assigns peer tutors for students in need of individualized help.
- Available in fall, spring, winter, and summer semesters.
Proofreading:
- The goal of the proofreading program is to provide free proofreading services to the Marist community. Trained writing tutors will review student papers during staffed proofreading hours in the Academic Learning Center or online.
Drop-In Proofreading:
- A trained proofreader will be ready and waiting to proofread a student's paper for grammar and clarity. Students are served on a first-come, first-served basis.
- An appointment is needed for papers that are 10 or more pages in length. Please contact the Academic Learning Center directly to make an appointment.
- Hours:

On-Line Proofreading:
- Students should visit Brightspace.marist.edu and log in using their Marist account and password.

Academic Learning Center Brightspace Site:
- For quick tips on time-management, study skills, citations, writing & notetaking, etc., students can join this site through their Brightspace Membership tab.

Counseling Services
Counseling Services is located in the heart of campus on the first floor of Midrise. Dedicated to campus wellness, they provide:
- Short-term, goal-focused, biweekly counseling
- Referrals to weekly, long-term and specialized options off campus or close to home
- Weekly groups and workshops
- Education and Trainings
- Medication Evaluation and Management
- Crisis Response
