BBVA COMPASS PERFORMANCE CUP REGATTA 2011 IS OUR 27TH YEAR OF THE BANK REGATTA
 On the weekend of Saturday, October 1st, 2011 the Galveston Bay Cruising Association will hold the 27th annual BBVA Compass Performance Cup Regatta on Galveston Bay. Yachts in several different one-design classes and PHRF fleets will converge on the waters off Seabrook and Kemah for GBCA's biggest race of the fall racing season. The overall winners in the One-Design, PHRF Spinnaker and PHRF Non-Spinnaker fleets will see their names join those of past winners on the crystal BBVA Compass Trophy.
As always, a full complement of shore side events will await racing crews in Watergate Yachting Center including parties Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. All events will be at the tent located behind the GBCA clubhous. Saturday evening's social event will include live music by the Landis Armstrong Trio, food from local food truck, Flaming Patties, a rum bar featuring Mount Gay and Cruzan, drinks from Treaty Oak Rum and Graham's Texas Tea, both local Texas distilleries, and St. Arnold's beer, a local Houston brewery.
Participating boats will range from the Catalina 22, to the Viper 640 to the J22 to the J105. Plus, multiple PHRF Spin and Non-Spin boats. Sign up today and join us the weekend of October 1 and 2 for great racing in Texas!

BBVA COMPASS PERFORMANCE CUP REGATTA JOINS OTHER INTERNATIONAL REGATTAS AS PART OF THE "CLEAN REGATTA" PROGRAM BY SAILORS FOR THE SEA
 This year, GBCA has committed to being part of the CLEAN REGATTA program created by the non-profit group, Sailors for the Sea. Other prestigious regattas in this program include: The America's Cup World Series #2 and #3, Annapolis Race Week, The Team Match Racing Championships at HYC, and many others.
For the BBVA Compass Performance Cup Regatta, we pledge our commitment to clean waters and shores by participating in Sailors for the Sea's Clean Regattas program. We vow to fulfill, and encourage others to fulfill, the goals and requirements of Clean Regattas as set forth by Sailors for the Sea, and to work to protect and restore our waters for the use and enjoyment of current and future generations.

 Slips will be available at Watergate YC for the weekend!
Anyone is welcome. (even if you already keep your boat in Kemah, or SSY, etc.)
The slips will be on Pier 4 which is with in stumbling distance of the event tent. They are 30 or 40 foot slips, 6' deep, power and water included. You'll be given a key for the weekend to have access to showers and restrooms.

THE LANDIS ARMSTRONG TRIO TO PLAY LIVE AT THE BBVA COMPASS REGATTA SATURDAY NIGHT PARTY!
Landis Armstrong is a veteran of tons of great party bands such as The El Orbits, The Allen Oldies Band, Alterego, King Soul, and currently performs with the Paula Nelson Band and McLemore Ave. A seasoned side-man, he has finally stepped up front to sing and play a wide range of rock and roll, country, soul, and surf music!
