Dear Stephanie,

The year 2023 marks 110 years since the founding of Gould Farm and will mark the 110th Thanksgiving meal celebrated by the Gould Farm community. With the work program being a central experience for guests who come to the Farm for care, gathering around a table to enjoy the harvest is a particularly meaningful ritual. Each week, guests spend up to 26 hours on one of our 7 work teams - contributing in tangible ways to the running of this community while learning valuable skills for their recovery journey.

This being a busy time of the year for most folks, we aimed to keep this newsletter brief and fun! Below is a link to The First Gould Farm Thanksgiving - a story from the book Brother Will written by Rose L. McKee. Each year, we read this excerpt aloud at our community Thanksgiving celebration.

Also included in this email are downloadable PDF's of four favorite Gould Farm Thanksgiving recipes. If you can't join us, at least you can create a little taste of the Farm at your own Thanksgiving table!

With gratitude,

Lisanne Finston

Executive Director

'Round Here

Work teams have been making trips to a local apple orchard to pick hundreds of pounds of apples. These apples will next we turned into cider using our large cider press. See next photo!

The apple cider press: cleaned, prepped, and ready to work! The cider we press each year is stored in half-gallon jugs and frozen. We then enjoy it year-round at meals or cooked into recipes.
