Federation Report - November 27, 2020
End of Year Donations

For over 85 years, the Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) has led the fight to restore and conserve Missouri’s wildlife and natural resources. We have learned that when we band together, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished, even in this abnormal year. Without a doubt, there will be additional challenges in 2021. CFM needs your support as we grow collectively in the future.

Please help us protect Missouri’s outdoors with your end of the year donation.

Share the Harvest

In 1992, hunters in Missouri began a program to share the deer they harvested with those less fortunate. From that beginning developed a statewide system run by the Conservation Federation of Missouri and the Department of Conservation called Share The Harvest, a program that provides an easy way for hunters to donate venison to Missourians in need of red meat.

Since then, over 4.3 million pounds of venison have been donated. This year we have created a new video to promote the program. Please feel free to share the video with your friends and on social media.

Artemis Sportswomen

By Ashley Chance

As sportswomen we often end up using clothing and gear that are hand-me-downs from our male counterparts or men-centric items off the shelf that have been colored pink and marketed to us as ‘specialized’. Sometimes this works. Some women genuinely like pink, and sometimes hand-me-downs fit and are the right price! But other times using gear that doesn’t quite fit can have big consequences in the field. I learned this the hard way a couple of years ago....

Purchase this book by Dr. Mark Morgan, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Conservation Leadership Corps (CLC)!

Hunting and fishing are engrained in American culture. However, the true value of outdoor sports is far greater than retail sales, annual licenses and permits, or the number of participants. It's about the experience. Folklore is a powerful way to stabilize cultural practices and traditions. Conversations could begin at home, the workplace, or in the classroom, so start one today!

The book will soon be available online in the CFM Store. Call the CFM Office to pre-order, TODAY!
