CFM's 86th Annual Convention

Online registration is now open for CFM's 86th Annual Convention. This year, the event will be spread over a whole week with Natural Resource Breakouts occurring virtually March 6-10th. March 11-13th will be in-person at Margaritaville at Lake of the Ozarks. Our in-person event will feature several new educational meeting blocks ranging from the World Bird Sanctuary to an update on Missouri's turkey population. You don't want to miss these educational and networking opportunities and to be a voice for Missouri's outdoors.
CFM Board Election Results

Congratulations to the newly elected Board members: Nathan "Shags" McLeod, Jacob Swafford, Emily Sinnot, and Emily Tracy-Smith (3-year term); Jeff Blystone, Norm Stucky, Leanne Tippett-Mosby, and Zach Pollock (2-year term); Steve Jones, Tom Russell, Ryan Verkamp, and David Urich (1-year term); President-Elect - Bill Kirgan, Vice President - Ginny Wallace (2-year term); Treasurer - Bill Lockwood (3-year term); Secretary, Lisa Allen (1-year term); Executive Committee - Robert Brundage and Bill McGuire (3-year term); NWF Representative - Joe Engeln and NWF Alternate - Dana Ripper (3-year term). The officers will be sworn in at the conclusion of the March Board of Directors meeting. More information about these members can be viewed on our website at the button below. Legislative Update:

So far this session, many issues besides those relevant to conservation, have taken priority in the state legislature. A few of the bills we are engaged in have had their initial hearing in the House, but have not yet proceeded further. Legislators left early this week due to the weather, but will return next week on Tuesday, after the upcoming holiday. We continue to monitor and oppose HJR 107 which could restructure the Conservation Commission, the governing body of the Missouri Department of Conservation.

The Governors Youth Turkey Hunt has been a very successful event over the last 12 years and serves both as a celebration of Missouri’s leading role in providing outdoor recreational opportunities as well as recruiting and retaining additional outdoor enthusiasts. This hunt is a cooperative effort between Governor Mike Parson, the Conservation Federation of Missouri, National Wild Turkey Federation, the Missouri Department of Conservation, elected officials from the capital, and a host of private landowners and other volunteers.
