Taxidermy Preserves Memories
Frank Wagner of Schwarz Studio Taxidermy stands in his studio with a number of mounts he completed.

The first time I stepped foot in a taxidermy studio at 12 years old, my dad and I were delivering a 6-pound largemouth bass I had recently caught. I was so excited to have that fish mounted. In my young mind, the idea of finally having a trophy on the wall was proof of my competence as an angler and meant my mentors and peers would look at me in a more esteemed light. Overtime, I learned taxidermy isn't about ego. It's an art used to preserve moments in time.
Today, that bass hangs on my office wall and each time I look at it, I'm transported back to an occasion I'll never forget. It was a sunny, summer day in the early 1990's. Pint Night Success

CFM recently held two pint-night fundraisers at local Missouri breweries. On Thursday November 1st, members gathered at Logboat Brewing Co. in Columbia. A small silent auction was held and we sold many of our new T-shirts. Staff were on hand to discuss conservation related issues and raise awareness about CFM.

On Thursday, November 8th, staff and local members braved the first blustery snowfall of the year as Boat Town Brewing Co. unveiled one of its new fall beers. Boat Town is located just south of Lebanon and has a great venue for serving their unique craft beers. A silent auction was held and staff visited with guests and members about CFM.

Thank you to everyone who came to support these great events.
