Feral Hog Public
Comment Period Ends Soon

Just a reminder that the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service is asking for public comment on a proposal to prohibit the hunting of feral swine on the Mark Twain National Forest. If you haven't sent your comments, please take the time to do so now.

CFM supports closing the Mark Twain National Forest to hog hunting. Make your voice be heard. We ask you to send comments to SM.FS.MTFeralSwine@usda.gov during the 60-day comment period which ends July 23, 2019.

Feral hogs are a problem in Missouri for many reasons. Closing the Forest Service property to feral hog hunting will be a positive step to help eliminate feral hogs from the state. Hunting has not been an effective tool for eliminating feral hog populations. This closure will be important to helping agencies and partners make positive progress towards feral hog eradication. Learn more about feral hogs and the proposal HERE

Bon Voyage Jen

We said goodbye to Education and Outreach Coordinator Jen Sampsell as she left to be with her family and try new opportunities.
