Every time August rolls around, I have a hard time relaxing and enjoying the rest of summer. Does that happen to you too? Maybe it is my many years of working an academic year or just the return of back to school time. It hasn’t always been a time of positive anticipation in my family, as we have had some hard years with lots of anxiety and stress. One of my children used to have a lot of trouble with separation and it was hard on all of us! I have included some awesome tips below about making friends and learning how to recharge-both were really important to helping my child feel comfortable and understood. As I reflect today, I see that we have turned a corner and my family is excited for the new school year, yet I still feel the need to step back and embrace summer a little longer. No matter where you are in your feelings about August, our community is here to help! I will be sharing fun community events that will also help you transition back to the school routine.
