Greetings Rondout Families, Faculty and Friends,

Special thanks to all veterans and active military who joined us for our Veteran's Day Celebration today.

We were thrilled to be able to honor the following veterans at our program today:

Cal Hasselburg* (virtually) US Army

Terry Forrest        US Army

Richard Ruzich       US Navy

Clyde Thomas          US Navy

Simon VanBoening US Marines

Joseph Wager        US Navy

Rich Wells              US Army

We would also like to thank the members of the Rondout Community who came out to be part of the celebration. Our students in the Upper School created a fabulous Hallway of Heroes. K-2 and 3-8 each shared a musical number and 8th graders Maddy Forrest and Nazneen Iqbal shared their Patriot’s Pen essays. The sixth-grade students were able to interview our honored guests after the program and learn more about their military experiences.

The Veteran’s Day Program is a long standing Rondout tradition and each year we find new ways to honor and recognize those who have served or are serving. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead.

Take care…

Until next time…

Ms. Elizabeth Davis

Dr. Jenny Wojcik

Dear Veterans

Those of us who have not served

Can never fully understand

The sacrifices that you’ve made

During times of peace and conflict

We can never fully understand the dangers you faced

While keeping  us safe and our nation strong with courage and fortitude

We can never fully understand how hard you worked to protect us all

But what we want to share today in our own way is

That we recognize the difference that each of you has made

And we send our thanks and gratitude to you and those you love as we honor you today

Our thanks are strong and filled with love for the ways you’ve touched our lives

Happy Veteran’s Day
