NEW RESOURCE: HUNGER FREE ACTION CENTER

The Hunger Free Campus Coalition has launched the Hunger Free Action Center website to combat college student hunger in Ohio. Hunger should never be part of a student’s experience, yet too many face food insecurity. We can change this by supporting hunger-free campuses and ensuring students have access to essential resources. Interested in learning more about the Hunger Free Campus Coalition? Email admin@communitycampuscoalition.org.

Take Action:

  • Add your name to the list of supporters urging Ohio lawmakers to back hunger-free campuses.
  • Write to your state representative about supporting basic needs on campus.
  • Share your story if you've experienced food insecurity.

Together, we can ensure no student goes hungry.

PARTNER CAMPUSES IN THE NEWS

Bowling Green State University & University of Findlay highlighted as models for their successful food pantries on their campuses. Food insecurity on college and university campuses is an issue, though sometimes a well hidden one. Ohio Reps. Sean P. Brennan (D., Parma) and Dave Dobos (R., Columbus) have co-sponsored a bill to create and sustain similar programs on more of Ohio’s campuses.

University of Cincinnati received one of only 25 2024 Carnegie Leadership for Public Purpose Classifications. The Elective Classifications provide an independent and rigorous assessment of an institution’s extraordinary commitment to, investment in, and accomplishment at addressing pressing issues of the societies they serve.
