Propel Ohio | Collegiate Leadership Summit 

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and Community Campus Coalition are excited to announce that applications for Propel Ohio 2024 are now live!

Propel Ohio is a statewide student leadership conference, organized in partnership with the Community Campus Coalition (Triple C), aimed at promoting civic engagement among Ohio's college students. The conference will feature an Engagement Fair, expert speakers, and opportunities for students to network with Ohio-based organizations and other emerging leaders.

Applications are open until TODAY, Monday, September 9 at 11:59 pm. Please share this opportunity with your student population and encourage participation.

Ohio Student Voting Summit

Saturday, September 14, from 10 am - 4:30 pm.

Campus Vote Project, All Voting is Local Ohio, Community Campus Coalition (Triple C), Vote Riders, and Students Learn Students Vote Coalition are excited to announce the second annual Ohio Student Voting Summit!

The summit will include a variety of workshops, panels, and networking opportunities.

Ohio Hunger Dialogues

Friday, September 27th, from 9:30 am - 4 pm.

Youngstown State University’s Office of the Dean of Students and Bitonte College of Health and Human Services invite you to the 2024 Ohio Hunger Dialogues.

This year’s theme, The Intersection of Academia, Research, and Policy in Addressing Food Insecurity, brings together stakeholders to share insights and collaborate on solutions to hunger in Ohio.

Aim Hire Workforce & Education Conference

Tuesday, October 15, from 9 am - 5 pm.

Join leaders from across Ohio at the sixth annual Aim Hire Workforce & Education Conference.

This event will explore successful global education-to-work systems and how Ohio can adopt promising models to stay competitive.

Featuring state and national experts, this is an opportunity to gather insights and strengthen connections.

Kentucky Hunger Dialogues

Friday, November 8, from 9 am - 4 pm.

The annual Kentucky Hunger Dialogues will be hosted at Eastern Kentucky University.

This event brings together students, non-profits, educators, and community members to collaborate on solutions to food insecurity in Kentucky.

Presentation proposals are being accepted for presentations, workshops, or panel discussions.

Denison Welcomes Author Stephanie Land

Thursday, November 21, from 7:30 - 8:30 pm.

Denison University’s Division of Student Life welcomes author Stephanie Land, as part of Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. Land is an American author and public speaker.

This event is free and open to the public; however, tickets are required. Tickets will be available beginning October 31.

Ohio Conference on Service & Volunteerism

Save the Date: March 7, 2025.

The 2025 conference, "Together We Thrive: Focusing on Community Through Service," offers opportunities for inspiration, connection, and skill-building to advance Ohio’s service and volunteerism professions.

Attendees will explore contemporary ideas, enhance leadership, gain professional development skills, and expand their networks.

NEW RESOURCE: HUNGER FREE ACTION CENTER

The Hunger Free Campus Coalition has launched the Hunger Free Action Center website to combat college student hunger in Ohio. Hunger should never be part of a student’s experience, yet too many face food insecurity. We can change this by supporting hunger-free campuses and ensuring students have access to essential resources. Interested in learning more about the Hunger Free Campus Coalition? Email admin@communitycampuscoalition.org.

Take Action:

• Add your name to the list of supporters urging Ohio lawmakers to back hunger-free campuses.
• Write to your state representative about supporting basic needs on campus.
• Share your story if you've experienced food insecurity.

Together, we can ensure no student goes hungry. 

Triple C is launching a Carnegie Classification Community of Practice (CoP) to support colleges and universities preparing for upcoming submissions, those who have recently submitted, and anyone interested in learning more.

COLLEGE MAIL VOTING HANDOUT RESOURCE

OVRC has created a new handout to compliment the mail in guidance (below). This is intended for volunteers and students to use to understand the steps to vote by mail, geared toward college students. 

• Tuesday, September 10, 9 pm: U.S. Presidential Debate.
• Tuesday, September 17: National Voter Registration Day.
• Monday, October 7: Deadline to register to vote for November election. 
• Tuesday, October 8: Early absentee ballot voting begins
• Tuesday, November 5: Election Day. 

• Triple C members can access free printed guides and banners for Presidential and U.S. Senate races. For more information, please reach out to Triple C.
