 Chambers...The Coach

Wayne left an impression of respect and honor on the field. The passion he showed for the game impacted the players, and the Sooners coaching staff. Wayne's devotion to the team granted a conversion into an entry-level coaching position. His knowledge of the sport was embraced, and the young athlete found his niche.

Wayne sharpened his student coaching skills while working under the direction of Oklahoma's Head Coach, Bob Stoops and Defensive Coordinator, Brent Venables. In addition to his defensive line training, Wayne learned the methods of offense, by studying other greats like, Kevin Wilson, Jay Norvel, and Josh Heupel.  Chambers indulged in these opportunities and highlights the time he spent shadowing Sooners Assistant Coach, Jackie Shipp.
