A Quick Word

Our mission is to help students achieve the American Dream through entrepreneurship education, programs and partnerships.

The quantity and quality of entrepreneurial work done in and around the University of Colorado at Boulder never ceases to amaze me. From a young entrepreneur saving lives with safe-gun technology, to thought-provoking TEDxCU talks produced and curated by our students. Our community is comprised of some of the brightest minds our nation has to offer, and we hope you can share in our excitement for being a part of this dynamic community! Enjoy.

8 Weeks of Awesome and YET

For the past three Tuesdays, Techstars Boulder has opened its doors to the public for the 8 Weeks of Awesome event series. This Tuesday (2/3) was an interactive talk by David Cohen, Founder and Managing Partner of Techstars and certified funding master, about how to navigate a funding discussion with an investor. The fourth installment of this incredible, free event series is an open house where the public is urged to come check out the Techstars space and interact with alumni, staff and mentors. So be sure to RSVP for Tuesday's (2/10) open house and continue checking the Pulse each week for upcoming Techstars events!

The Young Entrepreneur Tournament (YET), sponsored by organizations like Innovation Center, is a series of events held in late April and early May that teaches young entrepreneurs how to start a business, find customers and ultimately make money with their ideas. YET concludes with a competition with awards and mentorship given to the best and brightest ideas. Follow the link for more information and to register for YET!

The Spotlight
Acknowledgment for CU Boulder

This last few months, CU Boulder was acknowledged in a variety of exciting outlets. First, our very own BioFrontiers was repeatedly held as the gold standard in Nature -- an international weekly journal of science -- for co-location spaces where the bright minds in our CU research facilities and industry leaders can come together and collaborate on university campus (full article here). The second CU connection in the press was made just a few weeks ago when Kai Kloepfer, a young entrepreneur and Ideas 2 Action graduate, was featured in the New York Times for his state-of-the-art, lifesaving finger-print recognition system for guns (full article here).

We are so proud to have deep-rooted connections to the people and places of Boulder that are making a tangible difference in our world. If you or someone you know in the Boulder community has been recognized for their work in the entrepreneurship space, email us and we would love to feature the story in our weekly newsletter.
