Kat Pettengill
Marketing Specialist
| |
|
In her role with the College of Business Administration & Singelyn Graduate School of Business, Kat creates and publishes all of the social media for the college, designs and writes communication content, contributes to the college newsletter, and collaborates with the marketing team. She also supervises the marketing student assistants and supports the development of other projects and events for the CBA..
In her nomination, it was said that, "Kat always goes above and beyond for the students they work with. She recently discovered that an international student (who is a student assistant in her department) was living off campus in an unfurnished apartment and sleeping on the floor, with 4 other international students (roommates). In one weekend she took it upon herself to fully furnished their apartment with the help of the local community and their donations of old or unneeded furniture. Desks, chairs, beds and even mattresses and food! She is also known to rescue or care for animals on campus. If there is someone or something in need, she is the first one to step up and offer her help. She also navigates her position in a true “learn by doing” CPP fashion. There is nothing she can’t do, or can’t figure out how to do, and is always willing to learn with a smile on her face. I’ve never heard her say no, she is always willing to try."
Thank you, Kat, for your 17 years of service and all you do for Cal Poly Pomona!
