What is a quick tip that you want the campus to know?

Commemorating Juneteenth - June 19

Juneteenth: A Time for Reflection and Joy

Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month

Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month

Monday, June 19th is Juneteenth! This important day is an annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States after the Civil War. African American communities have celebrated Juneteenth since the late 1800s, and in 2021, Juneteenth was recognized as a federal holiday. Please check out this list on PolyCentric for local ways to honor and celebrate Juneteenth.

Worldwide, more than 55 million people are living with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia. This month aims to raise public awareness about Alzheimer's disease and its impact on individuals, families, and communities. Purple is the official color of the Alzheimer's movement. You can raise awareness by wearing purple or volunteering at local events.

"I am First" Video Wins a Telly Award

Commencement Selfie Contest

CPP is one of three CSUs that earned a National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps Grant in 2018. As an I-Corps site, our campus coordinates projects through the various stages of commercialization. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community entrepreneurs are invited to participate in a free two-day virtual institute to translate research, products and ideas to the marketplace. Teams will learn how to qualify for the NSF National Innovation Network Team Program to earn up to $50,000 in funding. Applications are due Friday, July 14th.

MediaVision’s video supporting the I am First campaign won a Telly Award in the Video from an Educational Institution category! The project goals were to highlight our first generation students on campus to help them feel a sense of belonging and are aware of the resources in place to help them succeed. We want to give a special shout out to Richard Garippo who did the final edit on the main video and the entire MediaVision staff who helped edit the respective individual stories. This marks MediaVision’s 6th Telly Award win since beginning to submit for consideration in 2014!

During our Commencement ceremonies, our Strategic Communications department engaged in a selfie contest to motivate the team and appreciate one another for their hard work at managing the many moving parts that went into making the event a success.

This was such a great way to show team spirit and spread joy among the volunteers. Sign up to volunteer at next year's Commencement to join the fun!
