Our Eagle Honors Assemblies will be on Friday, February 7th. The Kindergarten - 4th grade assembly will take place between 8:15 and 9:30 a.m. The 5th - 8th grade assembly will be from 9:45 - 11:00 a.m. At the Eagle Honor assembly some of our students are recognized for exemplifying an Eagle Honor character trait of Leadership, Responsibility, Respect, Loyalty, Integrity, Humility, Diligence and/or Compassion. Students receive a certificate from their teacher. We reminded parents that our focus for the Eagle Honor recognition is on our students. We want our students to be notified when they received the award at the award ceremony and not before. We want every student fully engaged in the event and not knowing if they are getting an award causes more to be attentive and focused on the event and in celebrating their peers and their own accomplishments. Although parents are not notified if their child will receive a certificate, all parents are invited to attend every Eagle Honor assembly. When a student receives a Golden Eagle it is because they have in previous years received recognition for all 8 character traits. When a Golden Eagle is going to be awarded, parents are notified.

Highlights from Last Week
Last week was a GREAT week for our CCA Community! Our 1st graders showed off their knowledge about planets and gave presentations that were out of this world! Our 4th graders did a "Mystery Skype" with a class in New York in their technology class. The Staff v. Student Basketball game was so much fun and ended another great season on a high note. Our 7th and 8th graders in the Chromebook Repair elective worked on devices to resolve issues ranging from broken screens to faulty track pads and problems with software. CCA parent,
Sara Depperschmidt, was honored at CCSD's Exceptional Volunteer Dinner. And Mrs. Peterson led a wonderful Cookies and Canvas event for our middle schoolers!

Multicultural Festival: March 6th
Our PTO is excited to announce this year’s Multicultural Festival will be held on March 6th from 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm at Cherry Creek Academy. This is an annual school event that honors and celebrates the diversity and inclusion that makes CCA so special. Throughout our school we have tables set-up in our classrooms that represent many different countries. At each table we will share food, artifacts, and music. This event is a hands-on way for all students and families to learn more about the countries that make-up our CCA community. In addition to the tables, we also have performances that celebrate the dance and traditions from many different countries. It is an amazing night that culminates with a “March of the flags,” that visually shares the diversity of our CCA community.
Our Multicultural Festival also provides our community with wonderful volunteer opportunities! Come and share your heritage!
