The "Laid Back" Sunday Evening Eucharist & Supper is Back! Every Sunday at 5pm!

Join us for an our 'come-as-you-are' Holy Eucharist every Sunday evening at 5pm in the Nave! This informal, shorter worship service is slightly different from our Sunday morning Eucharists, with simpler guitar music, a homily from the floor, and a more laid-back feel. All ages are encouraged to come and participate, and don't forget to invite your friends and neighbors! After each worship service, join us for a simple supper and fellowship in the Parish Hall. St. Thomas is very excited to bring back the Sunday evening Eucharist again, every Sunday at 5pm!

Come help St. Thomas build two Habitat for Humanity Homes

St. Thomas has begun work on our recently announced Habitat houses. The walls for one house were completed last week, and we will nail the walls for our second house this week. The addresses for the homes are 3126 Andros Drive for the Wade family and 3127 Nassau Drive for the Hives family. These are back-to-back homes and work is continuing every Saturday on both homes with the families.

If you would like to help us build these homes, please join us THIS SATURDAY at 8am (or whenever you can) at the Habitat Warehouse located at 400 Pratt Avenue. We will be finished by noon. Bring a hammer, a drink, gloves, and be ready for a great time. For more information, please call Elouisa Stokes at 256-604-8669.

The St. Thomas Children's Ministry is excited to announce the upcoming launch of Camp Cosmos Vacation Bible School! Join us from 9am until noon the week of July 10-14 as we explore the wonders of God!

Registration for rising pre-K through 5th graders will open in May.  There will also be limited nursery slots available for those not yet in school, with preference given to volunteer and parishioner families.  As always, we will need volunteers to teach; help prep crafts and snacks; decorate; and lead games and crafts.  Please contact our Children's Ministry Coordinator, Laura Beth Bestor, at children@stthomashuntsville.org if you would like to volunteer or if you have questions.

The Lobsterfest Steering Committee is proud to announce the 2023 Lobsterfest King and Queen, Mike and Laura Beth Bestor.  Please support Mike and Laura Beth as they plan our 2023 Lobsterfest.

In addition, Lobsterfest will have two training sessions this year:

One in May, which will be Lobsterfest 101 and will describe the various committees that make up Lobsterfest. Current or Past Chairs of the committees will provide an overview of the committee; general description, chair responsibility and volunteers responsibilities.  Lobsterfest 101 is set for Sunday, May 21st, during the Christian Formation Hour in the Parish Hall.

The second will be in October, Lobsterfest 201, and will be a call for volunteers needed to support Lobsterfest 2023.  Committee Chairs will describe volunteer responsibilities and volunteer sign-up sheets will be available for each committee. Look for the date for Lobster 201 later in the summer.

Upcoming Monthly Group Meetings

  • The Creative Souls Group will begin meeting again in May. The first meeting is set for May 5th from 2-4pm in Hiers Hall.

  • The next Daughters of the King meeting will be on Sunday, May 7th at 9am in the Conference Room. We will not have a meeting in April due to travel plans.

  • On May 8th the St. Thomas Book Club will meet in the Parlor at 10am. We are looking forward to discussing 10 Big Ones by Janet Evanovich. It should be a spirited discussion. And coming up on June 12 we will discuss The Three Mothers by Anna Malike Tubbs. This is about the mothers of Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and James Baldwin. We are glad to welcome new members even if you haven't read the book. Some of us go to lunch afterward. For more information, please call Elouisa Stokes at 256-604-8669.
