The new Student Success and Advising Center (The DODGE) is open! We are located in the Physical Sciences Center, room 240. Stop by and visit us for a place to study or just take a little break in between classes. We hope to see you in the new space!

What is "The DODGE"?


The Student Success and Advising Center, or The DODGE, is dedicated to nurturing the academic, professional and personal growth of undergraduate students in the DFCAS by providing individualized support, opportunities and resources through stellar academic advising and access to transformational learning opportunities. 


The Dodge can assist students with general questions, academic advising, academic success strategies, finding campus involvement opportunities, major/internship/career exploration and planning, navigating campus resources, student advocacy, etc.

Meet Our Banner Carriers

Julie Dawkins is graduating with her bachelor of arts in letters and economics and her master of arts in economics through OU’s accelerated program. While at OU, she has been involved in a multitude of student organizations, including the 60th President’s Leadership Class, Crimson Club, Withrow Leadership Scholars, the Miracle Mindset College Access Program, and The Oklahoma Group. She was awarded the PACE award for the top 1% of freshmen, the Regents’ Award for Outstanding Junior, and most recently, the Carl Albert Award, the most prestigious honor granted by the DFCAS, and the Letzeiser Award, an honor granted to the top 26 seniors of the university for civic and academic achievement. After graduating, Julie will attend the London School of Economics this fall to obtain her master of science degree in applied Social Data Science. 

Arlene Rosales Alvarado, a senior from El Salvador, is pursuing a double major in English Writing and Creative Media Production at OU. She has contributed significantly as a member of the Integrity Council, participating in hearings and serving as a peer educator. Additionally, she volunteered for the Big/Little Event and held the position of vice chair of reviews for the 2023-2024 academic term. Arlene is affiliated with the International English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta and the Association Friends of Venezuela. Her passion for storytelling is evident in her production of short narrative films and fiction and nonfiction stories, leading to two publications in literary journals and an award for first place in short/narrative film from the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association. Arlene was recently recognized as the Outstanding Senior in Humanities by the DFCAS.

Career Center News

Drop in career advisement with the Career Center now available in the Dodge, PHSC Room 240 on Thursdays 1-4pm. No appointment needed.

The Career Center has Resume Drop-Ins 1:30-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. on the third floor of Oklahoma Memorial Union. No appointment needed.

The Career Center has Headshot Drop-Ins on Tuesdays (1:30-4 p.m.) and Wednesdays (9:30 a.m.-noon) in suite 323 of the Oklahoma Memorial Union. No appointment needed.
