Dear Sisters,
Wow, September! We are hitting the ground running. It's the first day of Yalla! (our religious school, meaning Let’s Go!), yoga, wine-tasting, Mah Jongg and challah for the High Holy Days. Be sure to check out the many ways to make your holidays special and get to know your “sisters.” September is the month of Elul when we prepare for the High Holy Days and we do some extra charity. So, take a peek at our upcoming volunteer events. You can make PB&J sandwiches for Micah Ministries or help welcome our Yalla! families by handing out donuts on September 8. There are so many ways to get involved. Keep an eye out for pop-ups and other opportunities to meet, greet and serve. Let’s enjoy this beautiful fall together!”
Yalla! and L'shalom,

A message about WRJ from Reva Friedman
What is Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) and why do we care? Congregation B’nai Jehudah has been a part of Women of Reform Judaism for over 100 years! Part of each one of our member's dues goes directly to WRJ to help Jewish women use their collective power to support each other and make the world a better place. WRJ is our national ‘voice’ for human, civil and refugee rights, racial justice and so much more. Their website hosts a plethora of resources and events open to each of us as members. Whether you wish to learn more about Jewish Holidays, find new recipes or dive into Torah Study, you can find it on their site. My goal, as historian and WRJ advocate, is to bring the meaning, the joy, the enrichment of WRJ to our Sisterhood through articles and speaker events. To learn more about WRJ and their (our) advocacy work, follow this link: Advocacy & Social Justice | Women of Reform Judaism (wrj.org)
