Aug. 20-27: 61st Annual Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships

Don’t miss out on the oldest continually ran surfing competition in the world! Brought to you by the Virginia Beach Jaycees and held at the Oceanfront, the Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships (ECSC) is more than just surfing, but a week-long festival that celebrates beach culture with surf, volleyball, skateboarding, a boardwalk 5K run, swimsuit contests, food and drink concessions, art and craft vendors, live music on the beach and so much more. With more than 850 competitors each year, ECSC continuously proves itself to be the most epic surfing championship on the coast.

Want to compete? There’s still time to register! There’s a variety of divisions ranging by age group, board type and experience level. But hurry… spots are limited and filling up fast! Whether you’re there as a competitor or a spectator, you are going to have a blast. So come on out and make sure you’re on the beach on Aug. 20-27 for the 61^st Annual Coastal Edge ECSC!

Aug. 25-26: Virginia Beach FunkFest

For over 13 years, Virginia Beach FunkFest has brought the "funk" to the oceanfront with electrifying music, great food and unique vendors.

Rain or shine, guests can enjoy two days of music on the beach at 24th Street with Funk artists Con Funk Shun with Evelyn "Champagne" King and The Champagne Band (Friday) and The-Kays with Vivian Green and 5Starr (Saturday).

Preferred tickets are for sale, but general admission is FREE! So come out, enjoy the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and the biggest party that the city has to offer.

ViBe Mural Festival Film Screening at MOCA - ViBe Creative District

The ViBe Creative District and Virginia MOCA are teaming up on a collector’s edition look at the ViBe Mural Festival. Visit Virginia MOCA at 2200 Parks Avenue to watch the ViBe Mural Festival Film Screening containing videos of all 50 prior murals from 2018-2022. Videos created by local videographer Chris Lane video to document the visual changes that have occurred in the arts district throughout the 5 years history of the signature event.
