Msgr. Hay celebrates 100th birthday


Msgr. Theodore Hay can vividly recall his ordination to the priesthood like it was yesterday. “I was thoroughly and totally ordained,” he said. “Archbishop (Thomas J.) Toolen was a very large person and I knelt before him. He put his hands on my head and put all his weight on my head. I thought my knees would go through the marble. “I knew I was ordained. That memory does not fade.” The truth is, that ordination was

a few yesterdays ago.

Catholic Charities in Action—ACYC

Young people from throughout the Archdiocese of Mobile gathered together at the annual Archdiocesean Catholoic Youth Conference (ACYC) Feb. 23-25 in Orange Beach. Teens grew in fellowship and faith at the conference organized by the Archdiocese of Mobile Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. This department is funded by the Catholic Charities Appeal. This weekend is made possible through your generous donations and is another example of the Catholic Charities Appeal in action.

*Easter Sunday Mass will be aired from the Cathedral Rectory Chapel for our homebound Mass parishioners.

The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick once again celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with Mass at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, followed by a parade through downtown Mobile.
