May 2 - The Dove Deadline

A new Dove deadline (but you're free to start early!) -- Thursday, May 2nd. It'll be here before we know it; so first call for the next issue: a request to send photos and text to let us all know what you've been doing during the month of April. We are such a busy congregation and there are so many interesting activities that you are all involved in! Thanks in advance. vicki.brooks24@comcast.net

Are you computer savvy?

If you have expertise with administering Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Google workspace, HP platforms, backups, anti-virus protection, and installing layered software, we could really use your help! We are looking to augment our current, “seasoned" team – which supports the computers in the church office and sanctuary – with our "next generation" of volunteer parishioners. If you have questions or might be interested, please contact Eva at eva@churchholyspirit.net

CHS History in the making

CHS was founded in 1966; that’s a lot of history and how things have changed! We’ve gone from the old sanctuary to the beautiful space in which we worship today and many events. Sandy Burton compiled an history for our first 25 years as a parish but it has not been updated. So, calling all you amateur archeologists, we need help reading through 33 years of Trumpeters, vestry minutes, bulletins to bring this document up to date. Interested in helping? Sacred Journeys 2024

Embark on a journey of cultural and spiritual exploration as we delve into the rich tapestry of diverse faith traditions. Guided visits to six different faiths offer a unique opportunity to foster interfaith understanding and appreciation while learning about various religious practices, beliefs, and communities.

Through these immersive experiences you will develop a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences among various faith traditions, as well as the values, ethics and teachings that underpin them.

If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please contact Deacon Michelleslie at MichellesliesMinistries@gmail.com. Visits usually occur on Fridays and Saturdays from June to through August. Dates will be available soon. Space is limited. More information >

And Vicki Brooks is still collecting photos of that 37 years to use at the celebration -  Vicki’s email for digital photos is vicki.brooks24@comcast.net

Sunday’s readings proclaim that Jesus is risen and present with us. In Acts, Peter preaches about the power of God in Jesus and calls his listeners to respond with repentance and conversion. 1 John assures us that Jesus intercedes for us, removing our sin and calling us to the obedience of love. In today’s gospel, Jesus invites the disciples to touch his risen body and to understand the meaning of the scriptures.
