On behalf of Coalition of Franchisee Associations (CFA), I hope you had a wonderful holiday! As we are now officially in 2024, we have many exciting things to look forward to. With this being an election year, we encourage all franchisees make plans to attend the CFA Day Forum & Legal Symposium, April 15-17, 2024, in Washington, D.C. CFA members will receive a discounted rate and early bird pricing. Online registration will open soon!


Keep an eye out for future issues of CFA’s The Voice™ as we will start releasing videos about the CFA Day Forum & Legal Symposium. These videos will cover what to expect from the event, where to go, what kind of information you’ll receive and more. We feel this is such an important event for franchisees that we want to make sure everyone is comfortable coming, even if they’ve never been to Washington, D.C. Franchisees and small-business owners of varying sizes and industries are greatly encouraged to attend to join in the fight to make franchising fair for all. CFA Responds To Proposed Merger of Choice Hotels and Wyndham

In response to the proposed merger of Choice Hotels and Wyndham, CFA supports its association member, AAHOA (Asian-American Hotel Owners Association). CFA supports AAHOA in protecting its members as the consumers of franchises of both brands with important contractual interests that would be affected by the merger.

New Year Brings Higher Minimum Wages in 22 States

Twenty-two states and nearly 70 local jurisdictions have updated the minimum wages that restaurateurs and other employers will be required to pay starting this year. The increases have made the national picture even more of a patchwork in terms of what employers are obliged to pay.

Congress Attempts To Block Passage of New Joint Employer Rule

H.J. Res. 98 was introduced to Congress by Rep. John James (R-MI) as a Congressional Review Act resolution of disapproval, which would effectively negate the passage of the rule by the National Labor Relations Board and render it ineffective. The resolution has been moved forward by the House Education & Workforce Committee.
