Dear Friends,

Today is the anniversary of one of the most important battles in modern history. It was fought by the greatest generation of men who dared to do the impossible which because of their bravery and their sacrifice made the impossible possible.

Watching the D day service this morning at Normandy was very special.

I watched these men most over 100 years old remembering the landing and the horrific loss that took place. No doubt they are grateful to be alive and grateful for victory, but also sad to see the graves of comrades in arms.

Joanne’s Father just died last week and he was a member of the greatest generation also. His passing reminds us that there are still people around  us of that generation who sacrificed in so many ways for our freedom. It is important to thank these men who sacrificed so much for our freedom.

As the men walked through the cemetery looking for the names of comrades who did not make it out of Normandy alive we need to hold them in our hearts because their pain must have been palpable. The most amazing thing about the greatest generation is that they do not wallow in self-pity but are full of grace and love.

D Day is a blessing to remind us of the sacrifices that give us our freedom.

Blessings and Love,

Pattie
