English Summer Reading


Summer reading assignments and instructions are now available for all rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade MCC students. Make sure to utilize the hyperlinks provided within the document to access supplementary resources for additional information and context. This information is also accessible on our FACTS Family Portal under the Resource Documents tab.

Summer Reading Assignments

Called to Serve


Students must complete a minimum of 25 hours of community service annually, with a graduation requirement of 100 hours. There's no maximum limit to the hours students can contribute, and summer presents the perfect opportunity to begin.

National Merit Scholarship Program


Congratulations to Daniel Arrubla and Michael Green for qualifying for the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program! Among 50,000 high performers, they've shown outstanding academic potential. Look out for their recognition as Semifinalists or Commended Students this fall!

Honoring Hustler Achievements

Congratulations to Justin Woulard for defending his title as the 1A long jump state champion! Justin also showcased his talent with a 2nd place finish in the 100m dash, 4th in the 200m dash, and 6th in the triple jump. 


A big shoutout to Jahkya Miller for an outstanding 4th place finish in the 400 hurdles.

Check Please


Congratulations to the talented cast and crew of Check Please for delivering four amazing performances! Our community loved coming together to support the Theatre Department and enjoy such a delightful show.

Rotary Youth Leadership


Sophomore Garrett Smith was nominated by a local Rotary Club and selected to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp in Umatilla, FL, earlier this month. This leadership development program was designed for 9th-11th graders. We are proud of Garrett for earning this opportunity!

Boys Golf Tryouts


Varsity Boys Golf tryouts for the 2024 season are scheduled for Monday, August 5, and Wednesday, August 7, at 12:00 PM each day. The tryouts will take place at the Habitat Golf Course on Valkaria Road and are expected to last approximately two to three hours. Players must have current MCC athletic eligibility. Please ensure athletes are dressed appropriately and bring their golf clubs, ready to play.


Tryouts are open to both returning golf team members from last season and new players alike. Parents are invited as well if they have questions or concerns.
