Hurray! A few Minnesota Twins tickets remain

The Burroughs PTA has about 20 tickets remaining for the Minnesota Twins game on May 29. If you would like one, please reach out to Kim Stone. Tickets are $15 each, which includes a $3 donation to the PTA, and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

Tickets were electronically distributed on May 15. To receive them, you will need the MLB Ballpark app which must be linked to the email address that you used to order them.

Please follow these instructions:

1. Download the MLB Ballpark app via the iOS App Store or the Android Google Play Store.

2. Create an MLB Ballpark app account with the same email used in this purchase. If you aren’t sure

what email address you used to purchase these tickets, please look at this Google doc (plus you can see

all the cool people that will be attending the game!)

* If you already have an MLB Ballpark app account, simply log in to the app.

* If you have multiple MLB accounts, be sure to link the account number under your order details.

3. Once in the app, access your tickets via the Ticket tab to scan your tickets at the gate.

If you do not receive your tickets by May 16, or received less than what you ordered, please reach out to

Kim Stone.

Help Us Prepare for our 2024 5th Grade Graduation Picnic and Ceremony

Thank you to those of you who signed up to volunteer for this special day! We can still use a few more volunteers and note; you do not have to be a 5th grade parent to volunteer. If you are interested in helping out for graduation, you can sign up here.

We are putting together a slideshow of all our 5th graders. There are two asks for parents:

  • Individual Student Pictures: Each student will have a dedicated slide with their baby picture and a recent picture. Send in a baby picture and recent picture with your student's name to the Student Pictures Link.

  • Group collage: Based on submissions, there will also be collage pages with pictures of our graduates from Kindergarten through 5th grade. It would be nice for group photos to have labels (i.e. field trips or other activities so we can try to prioritize those activity pics). Send in pictures to the Group Pictures Link.

If you have questions or the Google Drive is not working for you, contact Sam Kwon.

SEW Sensory Path- Thank you volunteers!

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our volunteers who showed up this weekend to add some vibrancy to Burroughs! Together we refreshed the four-square courts, revitalized the Sensory Path, and added a planetary pathway. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves, don your paint clothes, and put your energy into this project shows the strength of our Burroughs community and the power of collective action. Together, we transformed the school sidewalks into pathways of imagination, joy, and learning; leaving a lasting impact on all the children who play on it. We could not have done this without you! See link for more pictures of the action!

The Sensory Pathway has been well-loved by Burroughs students since it was first designed by Jen Wright and installed in 2022 by the 2021-2022 SEW Committee. Since that time, many children have played on it, making it necessary to revitalize. As we admire the new pathways, let’s not forget those who made it possible, especially the SEW committee, parent volunteers, and especially SEW member Noah Lauricella and local artist Adam Johnson. Your work has left an indelible mark on our school community, and for that, we are incredibly thankful!

If you would like to learn more about the SEW Committee or join us, please contact Maggie Skrypek. All are welcome and we would love to have you!

Student Devices for Summer Survey: Required for K - 4 Families

Families can determine if they would like their student’s MPS device (iPad for K - 2 & Chromebook for 3 - 4) sent home with them for the summer. Students who bring home devices need to bring them back in the fall. Burroughs is also able to keep and store student devices over the summer as an alternative. Please complete this survey to let us know which option works best for your family. If your student is attending MPS Summer School (GEMS/GISE, Summer Scholars, etc.) they will need to take their device to this program.

Note: All 5th grade students going to MPS for middle school will take their devices home for the summer to bring to their new school. Any student not returning to MPS should leave their device at Burroughs.

Reach out to Mary Adamaley with any device questions.
