II. Group Seminar Meetings on Saturday, January 18, 2020*
The Men's Group Seminar: The Work of Psychoanalyst and Author Adam Phillips: Part II
10:15 to 11:30 AM

Adam Phillips is a British psychoanalyst and writer whose most well-known books include On Kissing, Tickling, and Being Bored: Psychoanalytic Essays on the Unexamined Life  (1993), On Flirtation: Psychoanalytic Essays on the Uncommitted Life  (1994), Promises, Promises  (2000), On Balance  (2010) and, most recently, Attention Seeking  (2019). His particular interest and skill centers on applying Freud's ideas to modern dilemmas in a way that is both unexpected and insightful.

In our last seminar on January 4, 2020, we began reviewing Phillips' ideas (please refer to the compiled packet of readings ).

In the next meeting of the Men's Group Seminar on Saturday, January 18, 2020 (10:15 to 11:30 AM), we will continue with Part II of our consideration of Phillips' original philosophical and psychological approach to contemporary life.
The Relationship Group Seminar: Q and A / Open Discussion with a Focus on Love Avoidance and Love Addiction
11:45 AM to 1:00 PM

In the last meeting of the Relationship Group Seminar on January 4, 2020, we had a Q and A / Open Discussion. No central topic was planned so that the focus would be on considering the questions participants had on any aspect of romantic relationship issues and dilemmas. The open forum was well received.  Given this, in the next meeting of the Relationship Group Seminar on Saturday, January 18, 2020 (11:45 AM to 1:00 PM), we will continue with the open forum format: participants may bring in any question or topic concerning relationships they would like to have addressed. In addition, since love avoidance and love addiction were commonly asked about in our last session, I will revisit these issues once again in our next seminar.
III. Psychotherapy Group
