The 1st Sunday after Pentecost
Trinity Sunday
Trinity Sunday, is the day in the liturgical calendar when we celebrate the persons of the Trinity. The theological concept of the Trinity is an early doctrine of the Christian church, formed at a time when theologians were trying to define the relationship between God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
By the middle of the second century CE, theologians discussed God as three “persons” using such language as: God the Father, Jesus Our Savior, and the Holy Spirit, or as God, his Word, and his Wisdom. By the end of the Fourth Century C.E., the theology of the Trinity developed into what we understand it to be today, God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The concept of the Trinity is one of the most difficult to describe, and many people have tried to use metaphor or analogy to help us to understand. And yet, it is difficult to name a metaphor that satisfies the theologian’s claims of the Trinity: three persons in one being with one divine nature, co-eternal and co-equal. The three persons are not three parts of the one God, nor are they three aspects of the one God; all three exist together in one God, and they cannot be separated. Aloha to Chris Suzuki
This Sunday 5/26 will be Chris Suzuki's last Sunday as the Holy Nativity Music Director. We are so grateful for all the years of music and Choir leadership he has given us.
We know that Chris will bring his unique brand of skill and talent to any and all opportunites in the future, and we thank him, and we bless him.
Please bring pot-luck to share, and join us after service on the lanai to wish Chris a warm aloha!

Special Offering this Sunday.
Since 2015, The Episcopal Diocese of Hawai’i has designated Trinity Sunday to celebrate the ministry at Camp Mokulēʻia and collect a special offering to support the camp.
This yearʻs special offering will be to provide funds for the camp to lease a new camp van since their old one is beyond repair.
Please be as generous as you can in your offering this week to support this amazing ministry.

Hōʻike 2024
Moana Nui: A Celebration of Cultures Across the Pacific
Friday May 17th
This year, our little school in the valley represented the Pacific Island Nations with dance and music.
The campus was lushly garlanded with flora, and a tented seating area was set up to kept parents and visitors dry.
As good luck would have it, the sky opened up for the pagent and the students were able to perform in dry conditions!
Special mahalo to Kumu Blaine, Po‘o Opua, Kia 'ohana, Ms Traci Nobrega and all the HNS family!

Stephen Noerper
was received into the Episcopal Church this past Saturday 5/18.
On Saturday evening Stephen Noerper was received into the Episcopal Church at The Cathedral of St. Andrew by
The Rt. Rev. Robert Fitzpatrick.
Reception is the church’s sacramental act of welcoming those who have been baptized and confirmed in another tradition into our church. It was a lovely service with Bishop Bob preaching about Pentecost and the Holy Spirit.
There were baptisms, confirmations, receptions, and reaffirmation of baptisms all celebrated that evening. A few members of Holy Nativity attended the service to celebrate with the Noerpers.
