District 2 Newsletter
JULY 2024
ISSUE 2
| |
|
Dear Council District 2,
Our city is home to many talented artists who use their gifts to entertain, enrich, and build community. In this issue of our newsletter, we introduce you to the various types of art to participate in or enjoy in Chula Vista. Whether through enjoying live music at The Galley, sightseeing murals on Third Ave, or strolling around the CV Art Fest, we are brought together through creativity. The City of Chula Vista is committed to nurturing and supporting the arts. Earlier in the year, we reopened applications for the Performing and Visual Arts Grant to support artists and performers. Check out the City's Cultural Arts Master Plan for more information on all goals regarding arts.
Keep reading to learn more about art events and programs, as well as Chula Vista's only live theatre with year-round productions, OnStage Playhouse. They have been performing in Chula Vista since 1986, with their Third Ave location opening in 1999. Now in their 40th season, OnStage Playhouse invites you to get involved.
Deciding to beat the heat and stay inside? We also have information on Cool Zones and the free fan program!
Cordially yours in service,
Councilmember Jose Preciado
