Original Watercolor 15" x 22"
by Bill Hudson
With Custom Frame.................$1,800
The quaint village of Polperro (population 1,550) sits on the south coast of Cornwall, England. Since the 12th century, the harbor has been famous for both fishing and historic smuggling (chiefly spirits and tobacco). I thank Paul Dinning for granting me permission to use screenshots of his YouTube videos as a reference.
The Artist Eye
.....by Bill Hudson
Have you ever encountered events so “coincidental,” that the right decision seems obvious? A couple weeks ago, I finished my last class teaching watercolor for the month of January in Laguna Beach. At the conclusion, the organizer of the class, Gail, asked if I could recommend another instructor for the month of October. I remembered watercolor artist, N. C. Swan, who exhibits at the Artist Eye Gallery which I conveniently pass in downtown Laguna on my way home. So, I stopped in Artist Eye on Pacific Coast Hwy to get contact information. There, by sheer “coincidence” I met two old friends… Ann and Ernie Jones (another exhibiting artist). I hadn’t seen either in several years.
Within a short time of catching up, Ernie and Ann asked if I would like to be a guest artist in the Artist Eye for three months beginning this March. With a little thought and approval from the other artists, I gladly accepted.
So, beginning March 1st, I’ll have a wall in the Artist Eye where “Polperro” (above) will be shown for the first time. Please stop by and say “Hi.” I’ll be there for the First Thursday Artwalk from 5 – 8 pm on March 2nd.
