Abigail J.W. Salawage, Esq., partner at Kaminski, Hawbaker and Salawage, is busy planning her wedding this coming August.  Along with venue, flowers, meals, etc., there's a wedding cake to design because Abby may bake her own.  This is one she prepared for a close friend and then transported to Martinsburg, WV, from her home in Mercersburg:

That's a cascade of chocolate covered strawberries!

Abby is marrying Rodney Grenke, a friend from high school years.  Rodney is currently a Washington, D.C.  fireman, but he's recently returned from year long duty in Bagram, Afghanistan as a member of the US Army Reserves.

Abby graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1998.  She'd already decided that she would become an attorney.  Her daughter, Jolene, was born while she was a student at Hagerstown Community College where she earned an Associate Degree in Business.  Fortunately, Abby was able to stay with her parents in Fort Loudon while she completed her college education with a bachelor degree in political science and history at Wilson in 2002.  Abby continued to reside with her parents, Jeff and Cindy Salawage, while she attended Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle campus.  While she earning her JD, she worked throughout, in addition to parenting, for Travis Kendall, Esq., of Fulton County, as part of his office staff.  She was a receptionist and title searcher.  Abby got to celebrate the completion of her formal education in 2005.

After graduation she worked briefly for Franklin County Legal Services before being hired by William F. "Bill" Kaminski, Esq., and Janice M. Hawbaker, Esq.

Abby's now dealing with the challenge of a blended family.  Abby's daughter, Jolene, age 15, is an avid dancer.  This puts Abby on the road for dance competitions many weekends.  Rodney shares custody, on an informal basis, of his children, 13 year old Sarah and 8 year old Joe, with his former wife.

In her spare [chuckle] time, Abby continues to bake.  She frequently sends her experiments to the firehouse in D. C., where she has a devoted following.  Here's one of her creative uses of Twinkies:

One of the past presidents of our Bar Association, Anne M. Shepard, Esq., plays in caves.  She freely admits to taking up the hobby of touring caves because she wanted to spend more of her free time with her husband, Patrick Minnick.

Anne attended high school in the Altoona area, graduating in 1972.  She attended Penn State, taking a degree in anthropology in 1976.  Anne then had a really rough break: she secured a job with a bus company as a tour escort.  Anne had to travel around the United States on the bus, being the company representative on trips.  She still remembers her trip to Hawaii.  Ultimately, though, she decided to return to school, picking up her MBA from Drexel in Philadelphia in 1982, while working in a news bureau public relations office.  She then began working for the Governor Richard Thornburg administration.  Since her employment was not civil service, when Robert P. Casey won the election in 1986, Anne decided she need to secure another degree.  Anne received her JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1989.  After graduation, she began her law practice in Blair County, working for Ellen Wallace, Esq.

Pat's college roommate from Juniata was married to Ellen.  The Wallaces conspired to introduce Anne to Pat, who was a life long resident of Waynesboro.  The rest is history.  [Pat attended Juniata at the same time as Judge Carol Van Horn and William Dick, Esq.]

Anne lives on a tract of land which she calls The Shire.  The property is partially in Washington Township and about 20 acres in Maryland.  The Maryland tract is designated wild life area similar to a Pennsylvania State Game Lands.  Pat hunts out his back door.  When Anne and Pat go caving, however, they're likely to head to Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana or West Virginia.  Anne's proud that she hasn't gotten stuck; but quickly acknowledges that Pat will explore caves more difficult than she'll try.  Anne has two fourteen year old cats and Hank, a year old Beagle, who's announced his intentions to join her caving:

A colleague mentioned that Timothy W. Misner, Esq., was a drummer.  I called Tim and he acknowledged he'd been actively been keeping the beat in bands for years, at least since high school.  He played in Hagerstown, Greencastle and Waynesboro.  Now he dabbles for himself and jams with one of the guitarist from his last band.

Tim is a 1968 graduate of Waynesboro High School.  Immediately after graduation, he attended Allegheny College, graduating in 1972.  He then enrolled in the Cumberland School of Law, Birmingham, Alabama, graduating in 1975.  Tim concedes he married his wife Mary on a Friday night in 1977; and, on the following Saturday, attending a Baltimore Colts game.  Tim and Mary have two adult children, their daughter Hannah currently practicing law in Denver, Colorado.  Tim is a generalist, but refuses cases of criminal law and personal injury.

I asked Tim about the band and he quickly explained that he started playing with several groups off and on, but was with his main group since about 1980.  It seems that they saw a cartoon in the New Yorker: a man necking with his wife, and then, as things became more intense, the man turning to the 'front' and said: "OK, time to send in the stunt men." Thus his band's name:  Porno Stunt Men.
