The Adventure of Prayer
Prayer should be a lively and energetic conversation with our Maker. It should be moving, intense, and vigorous. Prayer should be a continually changing interaction with our heavenly Father that varies in intensity and purpose; an adventure. Prayer should be our daily staff meeting with the God who has promised to order our steps, provide for our daily needs, and make a path for us in the wilderness.
Think of your prayer life as an adventure. If prayer is an adventure, then each time of prayer might be considered to be one leg of the journey. Just as in any journey, we should expect to encounter a variety of landscapes. For example, in traversing a continent one might cross rivers, endure vast deserts, wind through mountains, or navigate congested interstates. Even a short road trip might entail changing roads, changing a tire, changing speeds, and changing routes. These changes may be dictated because of accidents or detours, or they may simply be the result of a hunch or a preference. So it is with each “expedition” we make into prayer; the prayer warrior will often set out to pray not knowing what to expect or what kind of prayer tools he or she will employ, but ultimately something should be accomplished as a result of the journey.
As with any relationship, communication is key. Prayer is our chance to express our thoughts and feelings to God and to connect with Him in such a way that He can inspire us to pray prayers that will powerfully impact our world. These encounters with God cannot be mapped out in a prayer book. They will be dynamic and powerful conversations that course through a number of different passageways of prayer as God leads us to the places of His choosing.

FERVENT AND EFFECTUAL PRAYER
There are important aspects to prayer that make our praying fervent and effectual unto God:
- Prayers that focus to know Jesus in an intimate way to know His ways, His character and His resurrection love.
- Prayers to become like Him where the Word becomes flesh in our own character and value system.
- Prayers that relationally serves others and transfers His nature to those we love and are committed to.
- Prayers that focuses on reaching the hurting and the lost. Our prayers must mature beyond just our personal needs and our personal self-interest to becoming conduits for God’s presence and to pray through us, for others, according to His sovereign divine plan.
- Prayers that oppose the kingdom of darkness. We were commanded to occupy until Jesus returns. These are prayers that stand our ground for holiness living. Prayers that stand our grounds against immorality and perversion. To exalt the name of Jesus in the face of all evil.
These five prayers make our act of prayer biblically fervent and effectual for kingdom living.
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” (Philippians 3:10);
Effectual, fervent praying is growing in the maturity and knowledge of his word and nature, relationally, with Jesus Christ and with others.
- It’s possible to perfect one area and neglect the others. Effectual, fervent praying seeks balance and the heart of God intimately.
- Ultimately, our goal is to pray His heart and not a regimented catechism of repetitious praying that Jesus warned us not to do.
- God’s number one goal is to have access to our heart as His throne room for operating on earth.
“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13):

The World Network of Prayer Presents
24/7 WATCH: A Year-Round Initiative for 24/7 Prayer
As of January 1, 2023, WNOP has continued the 24/7 prayer and fasting chain worldwide. It has been such a great success in 2022 that it was requested again. Each week WNOP is posting a prayer focus as daily prayer for the entire week. Also, weekly a video is posted on the WNOP Facebook Page of a prayer leader and/or minister leading in periodic prayer.
Many people throughout the world have signed up by committing in their hearts unto God that they will consistently join together in united prayer and fasting. WNOP also has partnered with those in local churches who are already a part of a current 24-hour prayer chain. All of these hours of consecration are culminating to help provide a complete mass prayer covering over the entire Church body and to help bring greater success in all that we do in Christ! Together, let’s “watch and pray” and behold great and mighty things in the kingdom of God! Let’s prevail over the enemy with victory and declare, “Not on My Watch!”

POA's HOPE Prodigals Prayer Ministry
HELPING OUR PRODIGALS ETERNALLY & HELPING OVERWHELMED PARENTS ENDURE
We will be praying one massive 90 Days of Prayer beginning July 4 and ending on October 1, the UPCI National Day of Prayer for Prodigals. We anticipate the celebration of a great harvest of many of our beloved prodigals returning home to Jesus.
We are asking for all who can to join with 43 States and 38 Countries in prayer and fasting. We are believing for the power of god to free His beloved covenant people from the deception of the enemy. Like David at Ziglag, we intend to recover ALL (I Samuel 30:1-19).
Please begin to prepare your prayer teams. Beginning July 4, we will launch HOPE's 20th season of 90 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Because of family celebrations for the holiday, we will fast on Day 2, July 5. We will loosely follow the book, "Prayers For Prodigals, 90 Days of Prayer" by Dr. James Banks.
