Join us at the Chamber's monthly Emerging Issues Forum for our annual Federal legislative update. Jennings Imel, Vice President, Western Region U.S. Chamber of Commerce will be our presenter. He will provide status updates on three major legislative items: debt ceiling/spending; permitting reform; and immigration/workforce. He'll also cover what the U.S. Chamber is doing to push back against regulatory overreach at agencies like the FTC, DOL, and SEC – and what businesses can do to help.

You're invited to a Joint Business Mixer with the Carlsbad Chamber at the Army Navy Academy. Join us on Wednesday, May 10th from 4:30 PM - 7 PM. This is a great opportunity to mix and mingle with other business owners and employees in and around North County.
Networking begins at 5 PM. However, the Army Navy Academy is offering guests an opportunity to tour the campus. Please arrive at 4:30 PM to take a tour. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served with a cash bar. The cost is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for prospective members.

The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Forum provides an avenue for Oceanside Chamber members to learn about key issues relating to Oceanside's relationship with Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and the servicemembers serving on the base.
This meeting is open to all Oceanside Chamber members and invited guests only, and will be held the second Thursday of the month (odd numbered months), from 8am to 9:00am in the Oceanside Chamber conference room.

Chamber to Award $30K in Scholarships to Rising Star Students

Join us on Tuesday, May 30th for the Rising Star Scholarship Breakfast, as the Chamber will distribute $30,000 in scholarships to more than a dozen deserving students.
The Oceanside Chamber's Rising Star Program aims to champion students that have overcome significant challenges in their lives while managing to keep on track with their education. The Chamber honors one high school senior each month from each of our area high schools at a breakfast event. These amazing students are each given the opportunity to share their stories of resilience and persistence. At the end of the school year, all students that have been recognized are invited to apply for scholarships through the Oceanside Chamber Foundation. Tickets are $25 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members.

Best of Oceanside Magazine Stay and Play Local Feature - Frazier Farms
The first Frazier Farms store opened on Grand Avenue in Escondido in 1971. In 1978, that store moved to Center City Parkway. The popular store eventually expanded to four locations. After operating as a Boney's Market and Henry's Marketplace, in 2006, the Frazier family proudly returned the name to Frazier Farms and continued their family legacy of bringing passion for food and regard for good health to the community, and aim to bring that to their customers.

New Grant Funding for Restaurants in April 2023
Restaurants Care is proud to partner with SoCalGas, PG&E and SDG&E to offer resilience grants to independent restaurants at the heart of our communities. To better meet the needs of restaurants, we will offer a Spring and Fall application period. To date, the Resilience Fund has uplifted 788 California restaurants! We expect to help an additional 366 restaurants in 2023.

Pendleton and nearby military bases. Thousands of active duty military, their family and dependents are treated to a day of free food, entertainment and a fun zone for kids. Grab a partner and join VCC fr a fun evening of pickleball at Bobby Riggs Racket and Paddle. The Inaugural Dinks and Drinks Tournament is a fundraiser to benefit the Vista Community Clinic.
The tournament will feature 50 teams playing in round robin format. The top teams from each group will move on to the playoffs for prizes.
• Please plan to arrive by 4:45 for a quick briefing on the format and rules.
• A taco cart, snacks, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided free with admission.
• This event is open to all ages and skill levels and paddles and balls will be available to anyone who needs them.
• Pick your own doubles partner and sign up together or sign up as a single and we’ll match you with a partner. Spectators are also welcome!
