On Friday morning February 2, as on every year at the same time, Punxsutawney Phil wakes out of his sleep to announce whether or not we will have an early Spring. This year, when Phil emerged from his burrow on Gobbler's Knob, he looked for his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter. What a
forecast
! We feel sorry for our Northern neighbors since this winter, so far, was no great shakes. We expect a lot more visitors to show up in our fare state for the next 6 weeks at least. Hopefully, they will love Addison Reserve so much, that they will buy a home here. I know just the realtor team for them! Guess who???

Fred Bollaci, a member of our country club, has written a book, "The Restaurant Diet" on how to eat out every night and still lose weight. This past Thursday, Fred participated in a book signing at Styr. Over 30 people showed up to have their book autographed and to talk about the ability to eat out all the time and lose weight, a subject that is near and dear to our hearts since quite a few of us live in homes where our kitchens are closed. Reservations at restaurants can always be made. Now we can find out how to order when dining out so that we can live a longer life. Dick Smothers wrote a Foreword in Fred's book. Good book Fred!

The weather has been tropical, breezy but nevertheless, sunny with temperatures in the high 70's to low 80's throughout the week, perfect for our country club lifestyle. Friday evening, the 1st Friday of the month is traditionally "Happy Hour" at our poolside Bistro. With the weather cooperating, 225 members and guests enjoyed a lovely evening eating, drinking and enjoying a perfect Florida night while listening to a vocalist serenading us throughout the evening.

Saturday was Men's Member-Guest Tennis here in Addison Reserve. The tennis players, delayed by early rains, started with healthy smoothies, followed by a fun filled round robin tournament. Later, a delicious lunch was served and awards were given! A great day at Addison!

Saturday evening, Addison tried something new, Farm to Table Evening where all foods served were grown and produced by local farmers and merchants and served to over 50 residents and guests on the driving range outside of our Ladies Card Room. It was an elegant evening and everyone raved about how delicious all the food tasted. Another Addison Reserve success!

BIG UPSET!
Sunday was "Super Bowl at Addison". Over 250 members and guests converged on our 2 dining venues, Styr & Taste. Large Screen televisions were brought into our main dining room for those who wanted to dine while watching the game. Styr was also packed with fans rooting for their favorite team, or just for the sake of watching the 2 best teams in football battle it out for The Vince Lombardi Trophy awarded to the Super Bowl Champion. Well, this year, Brady couldn't do it, The Philadelphia Eagles took the trophy home, which by the way, is also the home of The Liberty Bell. Congratulations on a great game!

On Wednesday, our Addison Reserve Men had their Member Guest Tournament with a "James Bond 007" Theme. The format for this event was Two best-balls of four Gross and Net. 180 Members and Guests participated in this wonderful event which started with:

Sarah Ponczek, granddaughter of Dr. & Mrs Nolan Berman, has been appearing on the news quite often. Sarah is just 23 years old and a graduate of Univ. of Michigan with degrees in Broadcast Journalism & Political Science. She is a journalist and a reporter and appears on Bloomberg News as well as reporting on other networks. It's amazing what she has accomplished at such a young age, not to mention that she is beautiful as well! Keep up the good work!
